Calvin Warren - # 62417504
I've been working on the Warren of the family tree and was very happy to see not only a photograph of the Civil War tombstone but also a photograph of Calvin Warren. Just wanted to thank you very much for enriching the memorial with these two photos. ~ Nancy

Thank you for your service and Welcome home. You must be congratulated for building the virtual cemetery for all your fellow fallen Sodier buddies.

I have made the transfer since the memorial was created as being a volunteer trying to help document fellow sodiers that in cemeteries where I visit.

There's actually only one Lakelawn, which is Lake Lawn Park Cemetery & Mausoleum. It's down the street from Metairie Cemetery. Both are now owned by Stewart Enterprises, and both are serviced by the Lakelawn Metairie Funeral Home which is on the grounds of Metairie Cemetry. For some reason someone on Find a Grave had Metairie Cemetery changed to Lakelawn Metairie (which really only applies to the funeral home); I had them change it back to Metairie.

If the records indicate that he was transferred in 1969 to Lake Lawn, that would most definitely be Lake Lawn Park.

The memorial should have the Greenwood plot address removed; it's confusing to photographers.

RE: Gary W. Moore
Thank you,
I'll do some checking what got me wondering was
Ethel's obituary didn't mention a Gary and when I looked at Gary's memorial I got to thinking I went to school with him, I found him in the yearbook and I think he's the one. I was trying to remember how that Gary I knew died I was thinking car wreck. I worked with Bill Moore Jr at school and when talked about his brother Gary a few times, I just never connected the dots until now.

Was he moved to Lake Lawn Memorial Park or Metairie? They're two separate cemeteries which are both served by the Lakelawn Metairie Funeral Home. Right now his memorial is listed in Metairie Cemetery, showing a plot location that's actually in Greenwood Cemetery.

Lake Lawn

John Am I my own grandmother?? ha! ha!
As I told you thanks before for those pictures I did get all of them printed off. My sister Linda was so excited when I told her you had posted them to findagrave. She can not wait for me to make her copies even tho she does no Family History. I have my other set of Great Grand Parents Nicole Soren Sorenson and Mattie Madsen above my computer desk in a large frame looking down on me and also a mantel clock they brought over from DENMARK...Have you found where the Moore's came into the United States. I have the picture of the ship the Sorenson's came on and the picture of the ship my husbands Janda's came on. Sure would like one of the Moore's. Colleen

RE: Fred Roscoe & John Franklin Moore
John, you may be confused, I thought all night that something wasn't right. This afternoon after doing my visiting teaching it came to me that your great grandmother could not be TENNESSEE if John Franklin and Fred Rosco were half-brothers. So I checked all the records and TENNESSEE married John C. 18 Sept 1884 and Fred Roscoe was born 28 Sept 1887 and John Franklin was born 24 Dec 1894 who was the 11th child of 15 children of John C. between his two marriages....So you are a second cousin??
I am 72 years young. Born in John Day, Oregon, married in Weiser, Idaho, moved to Monterey County, California, came home to retire in Payette, Idaho. I retired from PAC BELL as an engineer in 1993. Don't like the hot weather we have but sure it is not as hot as were you are? We have had 105 degrees as the hottest unless you go to Lime, Oregon a few miles down the road where the temperature was 123 degrees at the old cemetery on top of the mountain with no trees...I would like to keep in touch with you and hear about your life as it feels so good to know there are cousins out there I have not meant but know their family history...Colleen

Thanks again, I did have the 1900 and 1910 census in my notes plus his date of birth from his fathers pension of 1916 packet but did not know Ruth's last name or that they lived in Malheur County, Oregon. My cousin Larry Moore said he had heard that they were in Seattle, Washington in the 70's. Really appreciate you! Colleen

RE: Tennessee Mcdaniel Moore
John, Thank you for your answer and I did go to the cemeteries and found pictures. I wanted to cry when I saw JOHN C. and TENNESSEE's pictures. Grandpaw Roscoe looked alot like John C.. Thank you for your hard work of doing what you have done. It is to bad that the tombstones cannot be cleaned up a bit. I used to extract cemeteries in Monterey county, California and we would do very careful clean of of the ligume (SP) as we went through them. We got 5 done before we left and came home to retire in ONTARIO, OREGON.
Do you have any information on Joseph LESTER Moore who married RUTH. I have one picture of them taken in Portland, OREGON but have no other information except his birth date taken from JOHN C's military records with all thirteen children's dates? Again thanks for putting in the photo's. Colleen.
P.S. I hope to get to Kentucky next year. We want to do a genealogy run to Nebraska, Kentucky and North Carolina.

Hi John,

Can you refresh my memory of what you are referring to when you told me who TENNESSEE McDANIEL'S parent were. I am so busy these days doing Genealogy and or Family History what ever you want to call it, and also indexing many records every day. Last month, alone, I indexed 3368 names so you see I am confused. I have TENNESSEE married to JOHN C. MOORE and their 10 children, and her father as LAFAYETTE McDANIEL Sr. married to NANCY MCELEANY with 6 children and his father is ELI McDANIEL married to ELVIRA ROACH with 10 children and his father is JOHN McDANIEL married to a Betsy Tinsley (she is the only one I have no info on except she was was his first wife) and they had 9 children, then in 1840 he married Nancy Counts. His father was ELI McDANIEL I and he was married to ELIZABETH (Betsy) GRIFFIN and they had 5 children. His father was JOHN McDANIEL married to ??? with 4 children and their spouse's. TENNESSEE was my great grandmother. If you have any pictures of any of these people or the MOORE side I would really appreciate having some copies of them. My grandfather was Roscoe Moore married to Bertha Jane Cochran who moved to OREGON in 1915...
Thanks for writing me and please let me know how we are related. I did talk to one of the Moore's back in KENTUCKY several years ago he was retired then, can not remember his name also I heard there was a cousin reunion in DAYVILLE, OREGON at the end of July. Not sure but I have talked with with a second or third cousin in DAYVILLE and he told me about it but can not remember his name. He owened the TV station there or something to do with the dish? Hope to hear from you soon. My Home Phone is 1-208-642-2916 or you can call me with your number and I will call you back on my cell as I have unlimited calling. COLLEEN DEE MOORE JACKSON
