You're very welcome. It's my pleasure to be able to take the pictures.

RE: Lucy Jane and James O Howton
You are very welcome, Sandy! After standing there in these sacred family group plots, I almost feel like they are my family, too!

Lucy Jane and James O Howton
Hi Sandy! As per your request, I have posted the basically unreadable stone to both Lucy Jane and James O Howton's memorials here at Find A Grave. We have had slightly warmer weather today and I went and took another look at this stone. I was able to finish removing the ice and frozen snow that was on the stone as well as a little of the vegetation that is filling the stonecutter's letters which spell out Lucy Jane and James O. I could see it very faintly underneath, but it does not really show up on the photo. I believe I have seen a sign at the cemetery office about stone cleaning and a number to contact to inquire about this service. The cemetery office clerk is there weekdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Her name is Wilma and she has been most helpful and gracious about any requests we have presented to her. The office phone number is: 509.527.4485. I would be honored to do a retake of this stone if/when it is restored as I think it would be spectacular!

RE: Howton Kin
The one double stone of Lucy Jane and James O has a lot of that lichen moss-like vegetation growing over it, obliterating the names and dates. But from the list of Howton's on the City Cemetery site, I narrowed it down to those two, since I have pictures for the all the rest. I could send you the picture I DID take of that particular stone, but I don't know how to do it in this public forum.

RE: Howton Kin
Already done and posted!! (Sorry, forgot to tell you they are now in place on each memorial--except for the lichen-covered one mentioned in the earlier email of Lucy Jane and James O.)

Howton Kin
Did you know there are 8 more Howton's at the Mt View Cemetery in Walla Walla? They are all buried beside one another. They are as follows: Amelia Ann, wife of Joel Howton, (02/07/1862-02/08/1895), J Henry Howton (1883-1907), Charlie M Howton, son of Joel & Mary Howton (1906-1908), M. Merline Howton (09/25/1912-11/02/1925), James O. Howton, Jr. (03/19/1920-12/26/2007) and Rosa Alene Howton (10/13/1924-11/28/2008). There was also a double stone, covered with lichen, where Lucy Jane Howton (1891-12/21/1969) and James O. Howton (1888-11/29/1969) rest. (Today was the first snow of the season and I would have tried to wipe the stone to show the names, but I was getting a little wet and cold!) I am guessing these are your kin since they are all together!

We get thirty days to process edits. I have two hundred edits a week come in. It takes a while to look at them all. I also actually have a life. Yours are not the only ones I have to process. Please have some patience.

Edna Alsup
Hi my name is Alanna, I am wondering if you could give me more information on Edna Alsup. I think she is my great grandma's sister. I have been looking for information on her for years. Please message me back either way. I really appreciate it.
