Anne Holder Lee
Burt E. Brashear #143029908
Hello Kevin,

I live in Frankfort, Franklin County, Kentucky and Sunset Memorial Gardens is not located within our city limits or county. The cemetery is not far from the Franklin-Woodford County line on US 60, Versailles Road, but it is located in Woodford County. There is often confusion concering it's location. Some funeral homes in surrounding counties have even listed burials for Sunset located in Frankfort or Franklin County in their obituaries.

Clark Legacy Center beside the cemetery is also located in Woodford County. They use a Frankfort phone and Clark advertises his funeral home in Frankfort, but it is not.

Someone apparently not from this area and thinking Sunset was in Franklin County entered a new cemetery and others follow. I believe you want your memorial for Burt E. Brashear #143029908 in the correct cemetery. Sunset is listed in Woodford County with thousands of entries.

Thanks,

RE: Meada
I did think about that same thing...the problem that I saw was that Ralph would have been 9 or 10 in the 1940 census, and he does not show up. Also his sister Pauline? is listed in the 1930 census. So these are 2 different families that we are looking at...I also show that an Everett was married to a Meadie in 1925 in NC. The Everett that was married to Bonnie was married in 1935, after Ralph was born.
I love family history and have relied heavily on Find A Grave to help guide me with deaths and relatives.

Thanks
Amber

If they are fine with it, of course it is ok. Many of the records here are managed by strangers to the families. That's what happened with my father's record.

The biggest issue I have with listing living relatives are the risks of identity theft and online predators. Sometimes security questions use mother's maiden name and dates of birth, for example.

Many places that post obituaries limit the amount of time they are available. And many genealogy sites hide information about living relatives for the sake of their security and privacy.

Thank you for taking the time to consult those affected, and for discussing this matter.

Best regards,
Cathy

Perry Co. Obits
I started doing the Perry Co. Obits about 3 yrs ago when I noticed that out of the area people were doing them and placing them in the wrong cemeteries. It was a big mess since we have so many family cemeteries with the same names. I have been very careful only to post memorials when I actually know the correct cemetery. I live in Perry Co. and can usually find someone who knows which is the correct one. Are you planning on continuing doing them? If so I will stop unless I see you placing them in the wrong cemeteries

RE: your grandparents
I sponsored the memorial and that should have brought the limit up to 20 pictures instead of just 5

I knew him many years ago. I like your comment, maybe he did deserve 3. I have found if this site is slow and you hit the enter more than once thinking its not working that's what happens. I always appreciate corrections but some people are so intelligent they never make a mistake(Ha) and are rude about our mistakes course most are nice. Have a nice day.

RE: Pittillo families
Kevin, I forgot to tell you this: my great grandmother's brother, William Davenport Justus, Sr also married a Pittillo, Nancy. I have Justus, Jones, Morrison, Hill, Wheeler, Lyda(y), Tinsley, just about any of the Henderson county, Ruth Co, Transylvania, etc names connect in some way to my families.

RE: Pittillo families
The only Pittillo I really am close to is Pauline who married first to my first cousin, Austin Morrison. He died at a very young age. They had not been married long. Austin was the son of my Dad's brother, David Morrison who was killed along with four other men when the truck they were riding to work in was struck by a train in H'ville. He married Louise Pace. They only had two children: Austin and Wilma who married Joe D King. (King's Hardware) Pauline later married a Pace.
There are other Pittillo's who married into our extended families.
My Dad was a Morrison, Mom was a Hill and together I think we are connected to most of the older Henderson and Rutherford, Transyvania, Buncombe, Polk residents. I have been on this genealogy bandwagon since the 1980's and still working on them.
Thank you for your work. It means so very much.
Our family moved away in the 1930's to SC.

Kevin, thank you for your hard work on Find A Grave. You help make it possible for people like me to view the graves of their extended families.
I used to be able to actually visit cemeteries, searching for my extended families. Now it is impossible. I appreciate so very much the labor of love you are doing. Would you mind if I use your photos of the grave markers of those of my extended family that you have done to put on my family files on Ancestry and Family TreeMaker?
Thank you again for your caring and helping all of us who seek our families.

Find A Grave Memorial# 142148431
When I entered this memorial I checked and there was NO memorial for her. After I entered it there was still only the one I entered.

My speculation is he had to have entered it and not put a cemetery or had her the wrong cemetery.

He is probably related and knew she was not going to live so he entered the memorial.

After her death he probably then changed the place of burial. He probably wanted to have the memorial under his care instead of asking for a transfer from whoever.

Either way I deleted mine. I isn't worth the worry. Thanks for letting me now. M

RE: Pauline Lautier
Thank you Kevin, for your explanation. I understand perfectly. Thank you also, for all of the good photos and work that you have done on Find A Grave. You have helped me tremendously in my family search.

Long Ago and Yesterday
RE: Pauline Lautier
Pauline is the daughter of Florence Leona Dotson Haynes.

Florence Dotson Haynes was the sister of my Father, Fred Glover Dotson, Sr.

Florence is my aunt and Pauline is my first cousin.

Pauline and I, both are the grandchildren of Aden Lynch Dotson and Eugenia Lavinia Searcy Dotson.

Pauline was the first born grandchild and I was the last born grandchild. (Grandchildren only, does not include great and great great, etc).

Hope this answers your question. You and I have had this discussion a few times before. My family history is still the same.
