PVT John M Greer
Dear Ms. Puntenney:

I am trying to help a friend find out if she is related to PVT John M Greer, 8th Virginia Infantry, who died at Point Lookout 14 September 1864. His pages on Findagrave showed your message as a cousin. We have absolutely nothing on him about any of his family members or ancestry. You are the first relative either of us has seen anywhere. If you could enlighten us on your family tree and how you are related to PVT Greer, we would be thrilled and grateful. You may even find a new cousin in my friend Ms. Greer. My email address is:

Thanks so much for getting PVT Greer's info out there.

Seth also my 5G grandfather
Seth > George > Catherine > William > Fannie > Bessie > Joyce > Me.

I am confused by the Rev. Title tho, and the city name in MO. There seems to be no association from the man in Hawkins Co to either.

How neat to find a relative:)

RE: Lucinda and Mary Phagon Sollars
Yes, feel free to use any information I send you. BTW,on, W. Hampton Sollars is listed as H. Sallers in the 1860 Buchanan, Missouri census.

I can also send you information on Horace Richard Sollars and his 4 sons if you want it. Take care.

Lucinda and Mary Phagon Sollars
Hi, Carole. I did some research for the Sollars of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, Montana. They are descendents of Glen G. Sollars (1904-1984). Glen was the oldest son of Horace Richard Sollars, and grandson of W. Hampton Sollars. He married into the Blackfeet Tribe in 1924. Glen didn't talk about his family and the only thing they knew about him was he was from Wyoming.

There is a Missouri Marriage Record of a Mary Pulker marrying Albert Fagon in 1849 in Jackson County. In the 1850 census they are living in Buchanan County.

In the 1860 Buchanan census there is an M. Fagon, a 28 year old widow with a nine year old son, James, living in the household of Hampton and Lucinda Sollars. This fits the profile of Mary Phagon Sollars (1832-1914), the second wife of W. Hampton Sollars.

The question is why was she living there? I think there is a chance that Lucinda and Mary were sisters.

Mary Fraley

I re-examined my family tree data and could not confirm that Mary's parents were as originally claimed as I examined the 1850-1880 census records. It seems more likely that she was a daughter of James Eric Lee and Harriett Thomas.

thanks for the double check!

Mr Whaley is located in Scioto Cemetery in SCIOTO COUNTY, OHIO NOT in Scioto Cemetery, Pike Co, Ohio. I took a pic and posted( normally I only add to correct location) so you should change his location of his memorial. Regards, Kay

Wayne Craig
Charlotte Greer
I have really not been able to find a documented source for Charlotte Greer's maiden name (thus the ?). I have seen her maiden name as Demoss on a few family trees, but none of them furnished a reliable source. I have searched for a marriage record in both Bedford Count VA, and Davidson County TN, but came up empty. She may or may not have been a Demoss.

Hi, The Mausoleum at Angeles Abbey Memorial Park Compton, CA is constantly lock, due to daily vandalism from the surrounding neighbors. The staff is also not willing to assist with F.A.G. Volunteers. You will need to call the cemetery (310) 631-1141, if you are able to reach them and find out if your love one is buried outside the mausoleum for a headstone picture to be granted. Otherwise your request has been denied. ~Sorry~

My mother was a DeMoss and I have been working with Taylor, Greer and Lowe families lately. I was happy to find your bio on Find A Grave. I wont be able to sort this out until early next week (company coming for the week-end) but I would love to be able to contact you again after I do. Do you have a tree on ancestry? Mine is named Shields Harbin DeMoss White.

Hulda Tews & William Budtke
Hi Carole,
I hope I've finally found my 1st cousin, 2x removed: Hudlah Tews or Thiefs (last name is spelled 3 different ways in census). Hudlah or Hulda was the daughter of Charles Tews/Tewes/Thiefs and Sophia Rosellen Jansen. Sophia Jansen is my great-grandmother's sister. (Eva Katherine Jansen Schmitt)
Looks like you might be a relative of William, so hoping you can help with the identification. This particular family has been hard to trace - all daughters, 3 different spellings, plus a fire that destroyed Wood County records. So I need any help you can provide!
Thanks in advance,
Beverly Jo

Hi Carol,
Are you a direct descendant of William P Jackson? If not, I would love a transfer of his memorial (140004873.) He is my 3rd great grandfather. Also, are you in Sedalia? If so, do you know if William and/or his wife Susan has a headstone at Crown Hill Cemetery?
