RE: Frances Helen ? (Walton)

If your source is a Philadelphia Inquirer Obituary, and all it says is Greenmount Cemetery (and doesn't specifiy Greenmount Cemetery West Chester or West Goshen), then more than likely she is in Greenmount Cemetery in Philadelphia:

There is a phone number on the Philadelphia Page for you to call to ask if she is there.

Hello Bill, took some pictures of all the markers in the Walton-Ferris plot(Walton, Ferris, Pomeroy, and Cornue). Was snow covered and +5 degrees out. If you would like better warm weather pics, just message me when it is warm and I will retake. Feel free to use them any way you wish, that's what it should be about. Didn't see Eliza's marker, but will go out and look again.

Sarah Swayne

Daily Local News
June 25, 1911

Death terminated the long weeks of suffering of Sarah H. Swayne, wife of Jacob Swayne, of Kennett Square, at 5 o'clock last evening. Advanced in years and afflicted from a broken hip bone and other troubles, during twenty-one weeks, her passing from this life was a longed-for event to the sufferer.

She was a daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth Stubbs, of Lancaster county,, where she was born in 1830. She married Jacob Swayne, of Willowdale, this County, fifty-four years ago, and had lived in Delta, York County; Brick Meting House, Maryland, and in Oxford during her life. Four years ago the couple went to Kennett Square and had since made their home in that place.

Her husband and the following children survive: Enoch P. Swayne, Chadd's Ford; Mary E., wife of Wilmer Cope, Lincoln University; Townsend J., of Camden, N.J.; Emaline D., wife of C. Warren Swayne, of Kennett Square; Calvin I. Swayne, who died several years ago, was a son.

Mrs. Swayne was a member of a large family, two of whom only are now living, and they are Emeline S. Passmore, of West Chester, and Dr. Henry P. Stubbs, of Wilmington, Del. Those who have passed away are Vincent G., Albert, Daniel and Thomas, of Delta, York County, and Dr. Joseph Stubbs, of London Grove, brothers and Mary, a sister, who died in young womanhood.

The life of the deceased was one of service and thoughtfulness for others, and her ministry entered all classes. It is said that in her former home in Maryland there was scarcely a house within a radius of ten miles where her helpfulness had not been known. She was uncomplaining and patient throughout her long illness and had wont the rest of the faithful.

Jacob Swayne, a venerable resident of Willow Street, this borough, died yesterday at the home of his daughter. He was 78 years of age and was born near Willowdale. He married Sarah Stubbs, of Lancaster and York County for several years. He and his wife came to this borough five years ago and the latter died about this time last year. The children of the pair are: Enoch P. Swayne, of Chadds' Ford; Mary E., wife of Wilmer Cope, of Lincoln University; Townsend J., of Camden, N.J., and Emaline D., wife of Warren Swayne, of this borough. Calvin, another son, died several years ago. The deceased was a member of the Society of Friends and one of the heads of the State Street Meeting. He was an excellent mechanic, and a man of exemplary life, industrious and honorable in his dealing with his fellows.

Watson Jefferson Heacock
You have a photo request for him.

Are you sure about the info on his memorial.

I found a marker for:
Walton J. Heacock
who died Aug 22 1881
Aged 19 Years, 1 Month 22 Days

which would make birth
June 30 1862

Same parents.

I will attach the photo, you can chose.

Please let me know.

John Walton - Crown Hill
I'd be glad to take a photo of John Walton's grave stone at Crown Hill Cemetery if I had his section number where he is buried. Crown Hill's phone number is 330-425-8128 to find out this info.

Richard Morrison

I'm an Eastburn descendant. I've been going through the Pennsylvania Death Records 1906-1944 for Eastburns. Hettie Ann Walton 112954699 and her mother 112954422 are Eastburns. Hettie was one of the authors of the Eastburn Family book.

I sent you some edits. Please approve.

Bill- I'm going through the photo requests on grove Methodist and adding death certificates where I can. Anyone with a death date between 1906 and 1944 I'm updating.

I also sent you a ton of date changes. You may want to look at the photo requests in Grove between those dates.

Lizzie Walton request
Diane contacted me. She indicated that Susanna and Lizzie were sisters. And Bill, Diane asked me to share with you her email address;

She asked if you would please contact her there with the hopes you might exchange information on this family with whom she also has a connection to.

Lizzie Walton request
Interestingly, I completed this request along with a separate request by Diane for 'Susanna Johnson' who is also listed on this headstone. I wonder how, if at all, Lizzie and Susanna are related?

William Walton #125317701
Hi Bill - I went out to the Greenville Pioneer Cemetery to fulfill the photo requests for this cemetery and I searched through the entire cemetery but could not a gravestone for your request - William Walton. I did see the large gravestone for John Walton #42765082. The memorial page for John Walton includes links to his siblings. One of the siblings that is listed is William Walton #85197020 who is buried at the Kettleby Cemetery in Ontario, Canada. I could not find a gravestone for William Walton #125317701 that you have put in a photo request for at the Greenville Pioneer Cemetery. I was wondering if the William Walton you are looking for could be the person buried at the Kettleby Cemetery in Canada?

Waltons in Buckingham
Bill, I added some Walton photos from Buckingham Meeting cemetery today. I added Abner, and to the left of his marker is a woman who is a Walton, but I can't really make out her name or the dates on the stone. Disintegrating. I put the photo under Elizabeth (#98218973) but I am not sure it is her. All I can read is 79 years and died on the 7th day. Please advise if you can figure out who it is.
