RE: Lamar Requests
Hi!! It's been a few months since I've done any in Lamar. I was working a lot of over time and I was working on a headstone in Howell cemetery.
It's fine with me if you take care of photo requests in Lamar, I know there are some that are getting pretty old and the person who made the request would probably appreciate it. I hope to get back into to swing of things before too long. Thanks for asking I appreciate the work you do.

Brockholst Tyler
Just realized that your group is how I got my start (abt 1991) on the Tyler family ancestors. Knew that Brock's son George (my 2nd g.grandfather) had come to Fannin Co. TX abt 1878 or so, & married a local girl. In his papers, I found an obituary for George's mother Cornelia Baker Tyler which led me to Barton Co. Stopped by the courthouse as I was driving ND to TX for an hour and the gents in the society showed me the Goodspeed's on Barton Co. The Tyler family is listed in the book (most of the info is true, but have never found a connection to Pres. Tyler as it says in the article). I thank you again for the info I got that day. Sharon

RE: Brockholst Tyler
Am just home from a 10 day trip and have doc visits for next 3 days but will get back to you as I can fit in computer time between appts. I am thrilled that you contacted me. Brockholst is my 3rd great grandfather. His roots go back to the Mayflower and many Revolutionary War ancestors. I thought his house was still standing but only have seen an old photo of it. Please write me at so we can correspond off findagrave. Thanks, Sharon

RE: Morrison
I only know what I've found in census information about Byron Morrison. My research has been more focused on the family of his wife, the Strattons, who were distantly related to my husband - interesting bunch - true pioneers.

Earp question.
I would like to hear your list of reasons why you don't think it is her grave? I'm researching Wyatt Earp and would love to know more about this turning point in young Wyatt's life.

I meant the Barton County Historical Society.

I would like to ask your permission if I could use your photograph of her headstone in my online family tree. I would credit it to the Lamar County Historical Society.

Thank you for finding and posting the picture of Mary's memorial stone. It means a lot to those of us who live too far away to be able to search for ourselves. Your time and efforts are much appreciated.

RE: Andrew Joyce grave marker
How wonderful that you found Andrew Joyce's marker, as well as his wife's. That is a much better photo of his marker and a great one of hers and confirms their dates on their memorials. Thanks so much for your extra time and efforts! Diane

RE: Owens family
Thank you for continuing to look. I am not sure how old the listing on line is that had the various Owens family listed. They probably are illegible or have been damaged and maybe removed. That is why find a grave is valuable. Thanks again for your help and hopefully the cemetery will be innventoried before any others are lost to the passing of time. You are appreciated. Frank

GREAT! Thank you! Yes, William was married to Nancy Holmes first, then to Pearl Haworth who died, then to Lulu Silvers from whom he got a divorce and then finally to Olive Mason.

I recently stumbled across Urilla Earp's stone in Howell and just read your caption on Find A Grave about you think she is in another cemetery. I am interested to hear your reasons if you ever get a moment to send me a message.

Andrew Joyce grave marker
I was suprised that you could not find Andrew's grave marker since there is a photo of it posted on his memorial, but it is not a good photo and not a close up, so you can't read what it says on it at all. I wonder now if it was a photo of another Joyce, but just posted on his memorial. I hate to ask, but could you look at the photo on his memorial and see if you could find this markerand see what it says. I do appreciate your time and effort and if you don't wish to go and look, I'll understand. Just let me know and I'm in no rush. Diane

Owens family
Thank you for taking the time to look for the Owens family. I greatly appreciate your help. I was basing my request on listing for the cemetery that I found on line that had the Owens family listed by headstone inscription. The stones must be illegible or something has happened to them. Thank you for your time and efforts.

RE: Thomas Owens
Thanks a lot. I appreciate your time and help. I believe I have memorials for all the Owens family that is buried there. Hopefully they are all buried together and won't be hard to find.
Thanks again.

Thomas Owens
Back in the fall you claimed my photo request for Thomas Owens at Forrest Grove cemetery. After a couple of weeks the request lapsed and you mentioned that you might be able to go back and take the photo for me. Now that it is spring I was wondering if you might have the opportunity to take Thomas and the rest of the Owens' family at Forrest Grove. The photo request is still open. If you could photograph all the Owens it would be appreciated. I think I have added memorials for all of them.
thanks. Frank W
