RE: Eugene J Link, Find A Grave Memorial# 79519121
My info came from his Obituary. He has sons living and if you send an email to me, I'll give you more info, rather than adding it here.

Arvid Hegdahl
Hi I'm one of the daughters of Arvid Hegdahl & I appreciate the efforts that you are trying to make to honor the 7th bombardment group. Have you ever read 7th Bombardment Group/Wing 1918 - 1995? Edward J. Magee describes my father's bravery. I sent a copy of a letter he wrote describing one of their battles in the air. It's on page 84. The book 'My Fighting Congregation' didn't portray what really happened in the air.

If I can help in any way let me know

Sheila

First, I'm sorry it has taken so long to answer. My computer has been down and I am behind. I got the picture from Dave & Apple Dwiggins. They lived in the Philippines and was trying to get pictures of all the service men buried there. They had a web page, but I just checked and it is down. They sent me the pictures of Indiana soldiers to use on Find A Grave.

You have my permission to use the Edward Krbec photo for your Veterans Project, please credit photo to Bernie_L findagrave.com Member #47895613. I don't have any details about Edward's World War II service. The photo was from the personnel effects of my Godfather, John Pat Tobin. John was a member of several Veteran Organizations, they probably exchanged photos before Edward moved out to California.

Hello Mr. Hernandez. Thank you for your interest in my memorial to my Uncle Robert Hutton. He, like most true heroes, rarely spoke of his time in the Army Air Corps. I knew he was in the service from the photo of him in uniform and I have a couple old newspaper clippings that announced his being awarded an Air Medal and the DFC for service in the China-Burma-India theater.

I have been unable to find your website: "www.dainthcbi.com" using Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome.

I didn't know Mr. Heffner. I just found his obituary and did a findagrave memorial on him. If you would like it transferred to you so that you can add to the memorial, or make other changes, please use the edit portion of his memorial, and add your membership # so that I can transfer him to you.
Thank you.

RE: Louis T. Hagen, Find A Grave Memorial# 73148733
Greetings
Louis T. Hagen is my uncle (my mother's brother); these are family photos.

I do not know much about his military life; I was only 4 years old when he drowned. I'm not in contact with his family.

May I inquire as to your interest?

RE: NORWOOD J FOREST, Find A Grave Memorial# 59204280
Hi Mike,
There is not much we know except that he served in WW2.
As far as we can tell by pictures we have of Norwood in our collection he served with the Army. I have pictures of him in his military dress. I am the genealogist in the family and we have no known living next of kin for Norwood. My dad is still living and he is the nephew of Norwood. Norwood and my grandma were brother and sister. I am sorry I can't be of more help. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
May I ask your interest in Norwood?
Thanks,
Anita Barnes Powell

RE: James O Dean, Capt., B-24 Pilot
Hello Michael,

Thank you for your note. I'm sorry it has taken me awhile to respond to you.

I would be more then willing to talk about my dad's service in the CBI. However my knowledge is very limited. My dad rarely talked about the war. I knew he was a pilot and I knew he was stationed in India. That was the extent of it. It wasn't until he died when we were going through his stuff that we realized he had earned the Distinguished Flying Cross with Oak leaf clusters...along with a Air Medal with oak leaf clusters...and it was then I learned that he flew 58 missions. I do know that he did a few bomb missions over Rangoon and also transported gasoline to the Chinese.

I hope this helps and I hope I hear from you again. I'm also grateful for the service of your grandfather to our country.

Andy

Raleigh (Flunoy/Flounoy) Doss Sr # 23530042

Raleigh was born in Virginia and passed away in Florida.
I was looking, and found ONLY one military record for him,
it was a death file with some of the information for which
you were looking:

Name: Raleigh Doss
Birth Date: 07 Aug 1924
Death Date: 21 Dec 2007
Branch 1: AF
Enlistment: 09 Apr 1943
Release: 31 Dec 1969

So he was career AF with about 26 years
of service. His career spanning WWII, Korea,
and Vietnam time-frames. Likely, he enlisted
in Virginia, but not a given. Even with the known
enlistment date, I couldn't find any other records,

Hope that helps -- if only a little.

PS I believe that his son, Raleigh F. Doss, Jr is still living

Sorry for the delay in answering. Been on a camping trip to take more photos. Most of the people I list I know nothing about them. I use familysearch.org for all my research. Maybe you can find something there.
