RE: I found a news clipping online
Hi John
I'm fine. Warm, dry, well fed and have a nice place to stay. My house got wet. The water is at the doorstep now and possi8ble I can start the salvage on Monday. The water may have touched the ceiling.
Funning thing was I got all of my clothes cleaned the day before.

Thank You for your kind thoughts. I will be fine. It may take a bit to get back to normal.

William B. King
William B. King was my ggg grandfather. Thank you for this information. I have a prison intake photo of William B. King sent to me from San Quentin. Are you personally related to King? I have a lot of information about this family. Also, when were you at Evergreen-Washelli Cemetary? I was there in 2001 and actually got permission from the grounds keeper to dig up the sod and raise the markers stones which, over time had sunk below the grass. I have pictures of this adventure too.

Robert Startt
His middle name appears in various places as Lee, Lyzer and Syzer. His grandmother is in the Home Farm Cemetery in Kent county, MD and her maiden name is Lyzer. I think handwriting was misread more than once! Hope you don't have to retype the obituary--I have never submitted text with that edit system so I don't know if it will work. Cordially, Grace Take a look at Andelot Farms Cemetery, I finally found it. Home Farm has a citation of Stark being a misspelling.

RE: McKean Family
John, I just sent a message off to my friend to ask permission to give you his address. If for some reason he doesn't want it out any longer, I will send you what I have on the McKean family. I only go back to William T. McKean, b 1834 in PA. He married Martha J. McClish. The McClish family is where I am coming from. My friend should have a lot more and if I know him he probably has a book published on that family. I will get back to you as soon as he answers me.

I think I suggested in the earlier message that Hallie's mother was married to a Bartle; that is not correct. Catherine Start married a Bartle and her daughter, Lydia Isabell married a Dollarhide. Sorry, Grace

I am doing further research on Hallie Dollarhide Ward Wheeler Price. At the time of her death her surname was Price. Husband was Leroy Price; she is the daughter of Ernest Dollarhide and Lydia Belle Dollarhide, who I believe died in 1911. Her mother was Catherine Start; she was widowed and then married Robert Austin. So Robert was taking care of his grand niece. Catherine died after having gall bladder surgery. If I can figure out how, I will post her death certificate. I don't know if Catherine was sickly or very busy so she thought Robert could take better care of Hallie. Perhaps they were favorites of Hallie, rather than Grandma with Mr. Austin. I think her father died fairly young, too. Will look into these questions further. Cordially, Grace

McKean Family
I was reading some of your messages to Richard Wright, my cousin, about Felix Mckean, if you are interested I have a friend Wayne McKean, who helped me write the McClish book. Wayne would have the information you need.

RE: Start/Startt Family
Hallie Fay is the daughter of Isabel Bartle, who is the daughter of Catherine Start, Robert's sister. Robert had no children and was taking care of Hallie I would think because her mother was taking care of Catherine. Catherine died after gall bladder surgery at a place in the next county that is still in business. All of the family going forward from Robert gets to be very hefty. Would you like the family group sheet for Robert's siblings? Hallie Fay married three times, Price, Clay and Wheeler; and had a daughter Betty Clay about whom I have not found anything. I think they figured out confidentiality and took off the living people. Let me know how much is relevant or interesting being the Greenlee line does not continue in this family. Cordially, Grace I will try to put them on Find A Grave so you can look without accumulating paper if you would like that.

RE: Start/Startt Family
Do you have Robert's obituary? A niece Mrs. William Dale is mentioned and I can't find out who that is. Is she a Greenlee relative? Robert and Barbara had no children but have one of Catherine's in their household on one census. I have all the censuses if you need copies. Anything else you can think of that you would like I will be glad to furnish if I have it. Unfortunately, I don't have any personal stories about the family.

Start/Startt Family
Are you related? I am interested in finding out where Doc Start's daughter Florence, b. 25 Aug 1869, died in 1985, killed by a bull per Ron Selvester, is buried. I checked Fall River and Pine Grove on tripod, in case she was just never entered in Find A Grave. Bill and Mary were Conerys and appear on one census with the surname Start. Mary Echols was married to a William Conery, I assume a soldier, who was killed in a horse accident. I looked all over San Diego area and then found out Doc Start was at Benicia so possibly Conery was there also. The histories do not say Mary CAME WITH Doc, although I believe someone said she was a nurse. If all this is of interest, let me know, I have lots of stuff and did a book for a friend who is descended through Ruby Ann.

RE: Felix McKean
I found the marriage date reported incorrectly on a number of family trees, so happy to see that you have the right date - and full name. Thanks for the photo link. Do you know who I might ask permission from to use this photo on find-a-grave, or to credit?

Linked to parents Edmund McKean Annie Alice McKean as requested. Thanks for the info. BTW - if following in your records, do you have Felix's marriage to Marie Nelson as Sep 26, 1934? Marie's obit has Sep 25, but her marriage certificate states Sep 26. Regards - Richard

John, I'm always willing to attach Obits to a memorial. If it is from a newspaper, then we should make sure that there is a citation at the bottom where it was found and the date it was published.
Thank you for your help.

Go Seahawks! LOL
Thank you for the New Year Message. I survived again! Yah!
I sent you an e-mail this morning and it bounced. Is it possible that you can send me an e-mail so I can send you a file? A lady "Anita" from the Netherlands is looking for her sister-in-law in the Seattle Area. I sent you a word doc with all of the correspondence and information and it bounced.
When you moved, didn't you take your e-mail address with you? LOL

Go Hawks!

Re: Find A Grave Correction: Laurin Lovejoy
Hello. Thanks for the obituary which I had not seen. Some of the information in the memorial came from another Seattle Times article on April 9, 1942, page 14 , upon his retirement. It contains the same photo as the one in the obituary.

As a rule I don't post obituaries or other published articles on findagrave because of copyright laws and findagrave rules, although these seem to be widely ignored by others. Perhaps one day I will change my mind on that. But I can use information from these articles to put in the memorial. Thanks again.

Sorry to hear you are sick.
I have made the links for Kate Burkebile.
I hope you feel better and are able to enjoy the holidays.
I'm back to being able to put sheet rock up and having no concerns about my health. I told the owner to bring another 30 sheets of 1/2" and 7 heaters so I can wire them up and turn them on the next time it gets to be 10 outside. Brrrrrrr.
Blessings to the World
