RE: Sallie Wallace
You are very welcome. Hope the picture serves you well in your venture of finding your family tree mysteries. Was unable to locate the Eliza Wallace marker. Waiting to contact the caretaker for further information.
This marker looks too good to be from 1917 so I am assuming it is a replacement marker.

I saw you had an open request for John Cox, Jr of Barton. MS, that was claimed but has gone unfulfilled. I was in Barton today and stopped to photograph the head stone. I also added John Cox's wife, Allie Brigance Cox, to this site with photos of her head stone as well.

I presume that she is buried there next to her husband. However, per the walking survey of Brown Cemetery posted at, there is no grave marker there for her. An undated military marker is reported for her husband.

RE: Parks Cemetery; Nola; Arkansas
Mary, I went back to Parks Cemetery, Nola, AR and there is only Rachel Cleland's monument where, according to the cemetry record book, there should be a total of six. There was one rock still there in the row. I'm afraid those graves will be lost if noone marks them.

Thanks for the correction on Viola's name. My great-niece's name is Nola - I must have had her on my mind when I made Viola's monument.

In the Parks Cemetery booklet, Rachel (wife of Charles Cleland) is buried in Row 24 - # 36.
# 37 is Bill Cleland, # 38 is Mrs. Cleland, # 39 is another Mrs. Cleland, # 40 is Vera Cleland Scott and # 31 is Belle Hunt Cleland. Only Rachel has a monument, I think.

Do you know if Rachel Cleland has a monument and where it might be located? I plan to visit the Parks Cemetery this week.

RE: Nancy P, Tate
Hi Mary. I'm always glad to help with photos. I had read your note on Nancy Tate and looked for her husband. There was no sign of him. She was the only Tate I found. She is buried directly next to a woman who has her husband on the other side of her. I got the impression they might be sisters but I have no way of knowing and I cannot recall the name of the woman. Let me know if I can be of any more help.

I completed your request for a photo of Ella Voigt's marker. With her is her husband Marvin, so I uploaded the photos on his memorial. As you can see from the photos (especially the close-up of Marvin), there is something on the marker. I tried to brush it off, but it is stubborn. I appears to be tree sap, which has cooked onto the marker over the years.

RE: Jessie Huey Seamands
I didn't see any burial for him at CC1 or 6 near the other burials. Have you called the other cemeteries to see if they had a burial for him? Kind of strange to disappear completely since his family was here. Did he have younger family here?

You are more than welcome. We are so happy when we go to older cemeteries and find the headstones/monuments in good shape and readable. I just wish more volunteers would venture to the older cemeteries and take the time to hunt for older headstones. :)

I visit lots of cemeteries in Texas and am a Native. What is your g-g-grandfather's name and tell me a little bit of his history. What area are you thinking he might be buried.

RE: Mary Seamands
I'm glad I could help. I had visited the cemetery in the summer and taken several photos. After posting Mary's photo I realized two of her children are buried there also. I created memorials for Henrietta and Frank and added photos for them as well. I believe the 5th headstone in the row is Mary's sister Kate Mann.

RE: Gary Lynn Crowell
You are welcome Mary, I love the cemetery, it is small and very well kept, I can go to that cemetery all year around.
If you know or find out when he gets the headstone, let me know and I will go back to take it.
It all depends when they ordered the stone, some people ordered the stone before hand.
You have a good week.
