William Keels 54971441
Hello! Do you know who William Keels was married to? The person that took the
picture said he was buried by his wife and children? How can I get those names?
Thank you for your time.

RE: grave photo
I believe the request was just claimed yesterday and has not yet been fulfilled. The person claiming it is quite active in the area so I feel certain it will be fulfilled shortly. Thank you very much.

RE: Singleton Cemetery
I am aware that there are two separate Singleton Cemeteries in Sumter County. The older, more historic one, is located near Poinsett State Park. The other is off Kingsbury Rd. nearer to Sumter. I've been to both. As for changing the GPS location, I'm not sure how to do that but I will do what I can to find out. The older cemetery is located in an isolated area and has many reptiles crawling around in the warmer months of the year. Anyone going there should be alert for rattlesnakes; one nearly got me.

RE: Mary Scott
Hi Cindy,

I have checked with Richland County Library for an obit and there was not one. I can not find any contact info for the funeral home that handled her funeral(Swinton according to the death certificate). If I come across anything else that might be of help I will let you know. I will see if I can find out when someone might be at the church besides Sunday (they never answer the phone and do not have an answering machine or a website.

Take care,

RE: Mary Scott
Hi Cindy,

Thank you for getting in touch and looking for Mary. Your questions are good ones and I do not have the answers for. I do not believe she was married because her father was a SCOTT and unless she married another SCOTT I think she was single. If she was buried next to a family member the names I am aware of are: Pharoah, Sylvia, Daniel, Axton, David, Sarah and Diana. The 1st two were her parents, the rest her siblings. I do not know when they died and have been unable to find death certificates so I do not know where they are buried. Any other names would be of her children and I know that two of them were not buried in Daughters of Zion.

To be honest I would be surprised if she even had a headstone and I know I am grasping at straws. I have tried to contact the church (unsuccessfully) to see what, if any kind of records they might have but I fear like most rural churches their records for that time period have probably been lost or destroyed a long time ago.

Sorry I do not have more information to share and I do appreciate your looking for me.

Olin Dorn
Olin Dorn, Jr was married (see the obit on his memorial). He would have been 23 years old when he was killed. If you have a photo of the grave marker you saw, please send it to me so I can see if this is the right one.

Samuel D. O'Neal

Thank you very much for trying to find the grave of Samuel. I hope it isn't a very large cemetery, it's too hot!! Wonder why there are no other graves listed at findagrave for Antioch?

Sorry to have sent you on a wild goose chase. I deleted my request and made a note in his bio so another one won't be made.

Thanks again,
