Thank you for the family links for Myrtle. I have no relative connections so if you do and would like a transfer of her memorial please let me know. I do like to keep memorials within the family if at all possible.

RE: Louis and Esther Michealson
You are quite welcome. I have transferred the memorial for Esther. I also do not live in Illinois, we live in Delaware. We were out there visiting my wife's Grandmother and looking for graves of her relatives. I figured while I was there I would look for a couple of Find A Grave photo requests.

RE: James Jefferson Wolfe links made
It is Deana523@att.net.

At one time I saw a story on James Womack, not sure exactly which one that it was, as this guy was an elected official in Springfield. Illinois.

It was a great story, but I only seen it once and my memory is vague.

I found a list of the genealogy work of a lady from California who sent it to my Brother Dale, over 45 years ago. As I was building my tree, I rook information from Delores Lamb Vest, whose mother Bessie Wolfe Lamb living into her 90's, and had a great memory. There were a few old faded bibles that we got the info from. Nancy was Bessie's Grandmother.

Another confusion is that Lewis had another Daughter, Nancy Bell, whose descendants are in the DAR. As you look at the older Generation Nancy & Agnes were popular names, found in the Abner Womack's Family as well.

Duane:
I noticed you were working on several of my relatives. I have a question on the Father of Nancy Agnes Womack who was married to Nathan Wolfe, I have her father as Lewis Womack, but I have found some old family records that say her father was James Womack.

Do you have them listed and how?

RE: Research Update from David Decker
Hi David -
Thanks for your message - I'm trying to locate all my documentation. But I think I've seen the Garrard Co records and if I remember correctly, Mary Whitman signed as mother to marriages for daughters Jane and Polly, and John signed as "bondsmen" for Polly. I've attached a link to marriage/bond records for KY in that time period, which is very informative:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~adaircountyfamilies/mge_types.html
I corresponded with a family member from the Storms family - a descendant of Mary Storms Lindsey, sister to Anna Storms Whitman - this was back in the early 1990's. She was a professional genealogist, had TONS of data, invited me to travel to her home to go thru her files but I never got the chance. She was my source who had some sort of documentation indicating Mary Whitman's husband was probably the same person as a John Whitman who was living in Lincoln Co KY in 1794, and was a member of a local militia in Garrard Co KY who was killed by Indians about the year 1797. Wish I could have seen the actual documentation! But she was a very reliable resource...!
Thanks
John B.

RE: Research Update from David Decker
Mary was listed as head of household in 1810 Garrard County, KY. The 1790 and 1800 census records for KY are lost/destroyed, so unable to locate her in those records. There may be tax records from that time period.
Thanks,
John B.

RE: Research Update from David Decker
Hi David,
I'm very certain that the John Whitman who signed on the marriage affadavit for Polly Whitman was her brother John Whitman (1788-1861). He would have been an adult (20 years old) and her closest male relative.
A researcher that I was in touch with years ago had some documentation about a John Whitman who was a member of a local militia in Garrard Co KY and was reportedly killed by Indians about the year 1797.
I've got to look again, but I'm also pretty sure I found some other documentation indicating Mary, the mother, was widowed sometime before 1800....
I'll try to look further into my old notes and see what I come up with, but I really think he died in the 1790's.
Thanks-
John B.

Duane,
I am researching the Whitman's and, of course, came across Anna. I'm trying to link the generations together for a DAR application. First of all, where did you get the picture and short bio of Anna? Secondly, do you have any information on the Whitman's? Thanks for any help you can give.

RE: Roy Shelton Pictures
I just read what you said about peoples motivation for posting the photos or information. I have benefitted from so many people freely sharing their information while doing genealogy since the 1980's. I feel this is a way I can give back for all that I received. I'm 66 years old and it is a great hobby for someone my age. I love it.

RE: Going the Extra Mile
Glad you mentioned this. I saw that there was a relatively new grave dug near the other Clarks but there was no marker for whoever was buried there. Now I know. I'll keep an eye out this summer and if a marker is placed there I'll get you photo of it.
