Welcome, Cuzzin! Great to have some help with this.

Find A Grave has turned into an invaluable resource, as I have also found it to be while working on updates of the SAR Patriot Index.

Check Lewis (Find A Grave Memorial# 11126542) & "Betsy" (Find A Grave Memorial# 11126548) after Find A Grave finally transferred management to us; I added a few notes, and a photo with a "person" (me). Also add a link to Keith Wilburn's Wikipedia discussion of Newton Jasper (Find A Grave Memorial# 92450612) because I felt there isn't room enough in a Find A Grave memorial to be complete.

Hi Carolyn,
No, you are not confusing your guys. Your grandfather, Shadrack Herron was my 2nd great granduncle. I descend through his brother Billy Herron. Shadrack and Billy's dad was William Herrin. William is our 3rd g grandpa and William's father was also named Shadrach Herrin. He is our 4th g grandpa. Most of his life he lived in Kentucky, but was born in NC. Later in life he traveled to Alabama with his wife, Becky Stogsdill and his son, who was also Shadrack Herrin, Jr. I believe he died in Jackson Co, Alabama, but I do not have proof. I hope I have not confused you.
