|Beverly Robinson||Sara Ridenour m. James Freeland|
I descend from their son, Andrew Jackson Freelamd. He was in the service during the Civil War and became ill. He went home to Terra Alta and died, along with two young children, shortly thereafter. His widow, Louisa King (Koenig), was left with only my great grandfather, James Wm. Freeland. She later married Albert Wilburn. I'd be happy to share Sara's Ridenour/Stemple/Miller information. Beverly Railey Robinson, firstname.lastname@example.org. Pardon Freeland typo in first line. I couldn't edit.

Jon, great work! I am currently trying to connect the dots with fourth cousins and such. I believe that Sarah Ridenour married a James Freeland, a brother of my direct ancestor, Elizabeth Freeland (1816 - 1892). I found an article in the Preston County Journal archives by Dorothy B Snyder (Oct 16, 2002) that tells of Sarah Ridenour Freeland whose father, Jacob Ridenour "was a Dunkard minister from Pennsylvania." I am trying to track the parents of Sarah because I'm just obsessive and don't like unanswered questions. Do you have any information on Sarah other than what you have included on her memorial? Any information you have would be great.

I discovered this site just curious and digging around. I am a Casseday and remember my grandparents telling me about distant relatives with the last name Freeland. Mary Freeland Casseday I would presume is on of those relatives.
So you may be a distant relative of mine. Small world.
My grand parents now live in Ohio, but originally lived in West Virginia. The last name Pentony also rings a bell, I don't know if that rings a bell with you either.

Jon - how are you related to the Godwin Line that you show in the cemetery area. My grandfather is a godwin and our ancestry goes back like yours with many grandpas and uncles fighting in the Civil Wars along with the American Revolution. I am trying to find a Clifford Godwin born around 1912 to Charles and Lilian Hull Godwin. Wondering if this may be him but with an R.

|Beverly Robinson||Louisa King Freeland Wilburn|
I visited the Freeland Cemetery today. I do have some photos, that you might want.
One thing I see is that you show little Emma FE Wilburn and her half sister, Henrietta Virginia. Henrietta had a sister, Sarah Anne. Henrietta and Sarah died within abt a week of their father, Andrew Jackson Freeland m. Louisa King. He brought home diphtheria and measles from his service during the Civil War. They all died rapidly, leaving only Louisa and my great-grandfather, James Wm. Freeland.

|Karlly||RE: Location of a Cemetery|
Freeland Cemetery is located in Terra Alta, WV, 26764. Cora Mae Sisler is my husband's grandmother and he was in WV in August and I asked him to go to various cemeteries on his mom and dad's side and take pictures of the headstones.
Did you see the Sislers in the Mt Carmel Cemetery on my tree and do you know where it's located? If not, Mt Carmel is also located near Terra Alta, WV. It's out Brandonville Pike, about seven miles, on the property of the old Harry Kelly farm, which is still owned by his grandson. If you have more questions about cemeteries in that area, let me know. My in-laws still live there and my father-in-law knows where just about everything is located so I might be able to help you out.

Thank you so much for the parental information. I only had a very short note for her husband. Dr. Cicero. Do you know anything about him. I would love to add a link to him but since my resources were limited I have been unable to find a memorial for him. Hopefully I have not made a memorial for him and I'm just not seeing it.
