RE: James Calvin Brock
I believe that I just verified the Jesse Brock from my lineage. My 2G Grandfather was Jesse Cowen Brock, his father was George Washington Brock and his father was Jesse Allen Brock. This Jesse came from VA and married Mary Polly Adams. Many of the names of children and siblings follow through so I feel confident I finally have the right line.

I found Family TreeCircles and posted a question about my George Washington Brock. I received an instant reply with information that matched what I had been able to piece together. The person that replied to me said he just tries to assist people. I'm working on finding the half brother of Jesse's, William H Brock. Hopefully, they can find something on him.

I got caught up in the Aaron Brock thing but since I had definite information on Jesse Cowen Brock (I have his family bible) it didn't seem to track through and so many people had several different lines mixed together. I took advantage of the DNA testing and found I had no Native American blood which helped. I ended up taking census data and other data that I had and putting it in a spreadsheet to figure things out.

Thank you for your assistance.

RE: James Calvin Brock
Thank you Liz. I went down a rabbit hole with Jesse Brock earlier and don't want to repeat my mistake. My 2nd great grandfather is Jesse Cowen Brock of which I possess his family bible with notations. His father was George Washington Brock whom I know lived in Belmont County OH up to 1833 and have tracked him down in IL and KS. It's his father that I'm having trouble with. Unfortunately the Brock family tree has many issues. The one fact that I'm sure of from DNA testing is that the line that integrates native American is not my line.

There still might be a tie to Jesse Brock and Rebecca Howard; and/or John Calvin Brock. I will keep working on it.

Thank you again.

James Calvin Brock
Hello Liz,

I am looking for information on George Washington Brock's parents. James Calvin Brock might be his father, but haven't been able to find anything on him. Do you have any information of James Calvin's family? George was in Belmont, OH until 1833 then when to IL and finally went to KS where he died.

Would appreciate any information you might have.

Thanks!

RE: Updates to memorials
I am glad to help out Liz. Many of my family are there too. If you are interested in helping to enter memorials for Dayton Memorial please let me know. Unfortunately the way the cemetery index is set up. The names have to be entered one at a time :-(. It is a very long process. But the good part is the list of names are all online. They gave me a link that I will happily share with anyone to help.

Updates to memorials
Good morning. I see Find A Grave is finally working. ;-)
Just wanted to mention. If you use the edit tabs on each memorial, it will make it very easy for you to request updates to the memorials, and easy to update all memorials at the same time.
You can also keep track of all your requests and processed updates from your profile page edit tab. Hope this helps you.
Welcome to Find A Grave.

Done.
What makes you think he is not buried with his wife?
have you checked with the office at the cemetery to see if they have a record of his burial?

RE: Reese Henderson Wheeler
I can't find anything.
If I were you I would make a memorial for him with his burial place Unknown.
Then you can hope that someone who knows where he is buried will tell you. It has worked for me many times.
When you make his memorial put all the info you have about him and link him to his family.
Also add what company and regiment he was in and all the other info you have.
I guess you got the death date from his widow's pension application.
You could also add a photo of that application to his memorial.
hope this helps.

RE: Daubenspeck
Hi Liz! I linked Mary Haines Daubenspeck with her parents, however, I cannot link Simon and Marys infant child because I did not create the babys page. I will contact the original creator to see if it they will do it. Simons sister, Margaret (Maggie) Daubenspeck Dorsey is my great grandmother. I have information and pictures I can share with you of the Daubenspecks. Would you happen to have a picture of Simon and Mary? I would love to have it for my family tree. A lot of trees on Ancestry have Simon and his sister Sabilla listed as deceased as infants. It took me a long time searching to find this was not the case. I would love to share the information I have...just email me anytime! Cheryl
