James Robbins Bishop (10/22/1815-4/14/1868)
Hello,
I compiled the following from a family tree created by jwscott2830211 on the Family Search website:

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:1:MZ96-4PP

James Robbins Bishop(10/22/1815-4/14/1868) was born in Williamsville Sussex County, Delaware, the son of Littleton Robbins BISHOP (1790-12/?/1860) and Margaret McGee (9/29/1790-2/2/1850) of Bishop, Worcester County, Maryland.

He was the brother of: Charlotte A. Bishop (1/20/1813->1860), William Bishop (8/18/1814-11/16/1842), Elizabeth Bishop (1/29/1817-9/11/1854), John Bishop (10/2/1818->1880), Ebenezer Bishop (1/9/1820-3/4/1868), Lemuel Bishop (3/28/1821-6/20/1839), Mary Jane Bishop (6/15/1822-8/15/1823), Littleton Robbins Bishop (5/15/1824-6/24/1915), Mary Ann Bishop (2/1/1826->1860), Dolly Stephenson Bishop (6/21/1827-<12/1/1860), Margaretta Bishop (1/13/1829-<12/1/1860) and Sarah Bishop (3/6/1834-?).

His first wife was Isabella M. Derrickson (4/14/1818-1/13/1849) who he married on May 9, 1841. They had 3 daughters: Anna Catharine (1/14/1843-2/18/1930) who is buried in the old Sound Methodist church cemetery at Roxana, DE., Martha Jane “Mattie” Bishop (1845-1923) who married to Levin Miller, and Mary Ellen Bishop (1/12/1848-7/11/1934) who married Josiah James Harrison (5/12/1844-8/22/1922). She is buried in Bishopville Cemetery with her husband.

His second wife was Sarah Hill Hall Bishop (8/2/1818-4/14/1907) who he married on January 23, 1850.

Wondering if you are related to John Alexander Mitchell and Hazel Katie Hudson Mitchell. I am trying to locate information on their son John H Mitchell who was a WWII Veteran. Thanks!

New System for Memorial Edits deployed by Find A Grave on 12/5/2013

Go to your Contributor/Profile page.
Look in the upper right corner. You should now see a tab called "Edits" - check there to see if any have been submitted to you. Then just review and accept.

Way easier for doing updates to names/dates/places/plot numbers/links. If you don't approve within 21 days it will automatically accept it.

You still will get e-mails to add info to bio section.

RE: George Baker tombstone
I suspect that George purchased the tombstone in 1917 when Sarah passed away and had both their names and dates of birth inscribed at that time. The responsibility for having the headstone updated when he passed would have fallen to whomever took care of the funeral arrangements. Most monument companies won't accommodate a "prepay", so George's heir likely opted not to incur the cost of having the stone etched with his date of death.

RE: Levin Steen grave
Thanks Larry. The memorial for Eliza A Steen, who appears to be Levin's first wife, is on Findagrave now (#11868981) but Levin's tombstone (if any) has no photo. Levin's second wife Sarah Eugenia (Hitchens) Steen is also interred here (#11868990). Both of Levin's wives died before he did. I appreciate your help! Steve Keefe

RE: Cora Belle Brekken
Evening.

I just heard from Jan in Elko. She doesn't have a plot number for Cora Belle, but she has: Born Jun 23, 1895 in Woodruff, KS. Died Oct 10. 1981 in Elko. Was shipped to Reno Mountain View Cemetery for cremation, and was shipped back to Elko and buried in the Elko City Cemetery.

She (Jan Peterson phone 775 778-5478) was part of the government shutdown today, and has no other information at this time. She might have more come spring. She received all the information for the City Cemetery on paper and is trying to get it into the computer.

Hope this helps. Sorry it took so long.

Woman at cemetery office today mentioned Nellie was buried with a baby; since grave unmarked, unfortunately no gravestone that might provide further info.

RE: Gravestones for Wilsons
Nancy's stone is badly weathered--didn't think I had anything usable at all until I enlarged it. Don't know if you noticed that I also found her husband, John Wilson on the same marker, a nearby marker for their daughter Amanda, a marker for William's wife Augusta, and an infant marker for a daughter of William and Augusta, all on the same plot. I did not get a general photo of the plot--will try to do that the next time I am there. I am not related--if you would like to have any of these that I posted (infant, Augusta and John) transferred, let me know.
