RE: Joseph
I've got copies of the 1910, 1920 and 1930 census of Joseph and his parents and later him and his wife, Mary, with their children, but the family was hiding too good to be found in the 1900 one. Lesnefsky has been spelt and butchered so many times I sometimes have a hard time with it sometimes. And when I went to the cemetery where Irene, her mother and my grandmother are all buried the woman at the office told me that Lesnefsky isn't even the original spelling of the name.

My email address is mlz2883 at

I'd love to hear what you have to say. And any picture would be wonderful. I love all that good stuff.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding. :)

RE: Lewis Lesnefsky
Irene and my grandmother Madaline were sisters so that makes us almost cousins through marriage. :)

I've been doing genealogy for more that twelve years and have only limited information on the Lesnefsky family. My biggest brickwall is Irene's father, Joseph. I don't know when he was born or died. I've heard stories that he and his wife seperated but don't know if it's true or not. The 1940 census lists my great grandmother as a widow but the census are never 100% accurate.

Then there were a few stories I've heard but never knew if they were true. The Lesnefsky/Angelovich line is full of brick walls.

I wonder if Kevin remembers my dad Steve, who was called Sonny by the family? I haven't seen much of that side of the family in years.

Maybe we can compare what notes we have and help out each other.

The best way to start with genealogy is by asking questions and getting names and dates from people.

RE: Lewis Lesnefsky

Are you related to Irene by any chance? She was my aunt.

The Lewis mentioned in Irene's obituary was her brother who died in 2005. The Lewis Lesnefsky who died in 1918 was Irene's uncle. He was one of her father's brothers.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions let me know and I'll try to help you out.
