I am not sure who posted the picture of my grandfather and their grandfather, but I LOVED seeing it! I remember my grandfather fondly but, unfortunately, he was in an accident when I was a small child and he was mentally and physically impaired. He was so sweet, though and we played with him like he was a child. I love seeing the picture of him robust and handsome. I always heard he was a good man which makes me feel good. My dad was a good man and father also, so think he got it from him. Whoever you are thank you. Loved seeing the picture. I am interested in family history and am always happy to see and learn new things.

RE: Florent Dionne
We'll keep our eyes open for Valerie Rentner and her husband. The name doesn't sound familiar, but as with Florent's grave, a lot of the markers in that area are sunken. Even though Valerie and her husband aren't listed on the Royal Palm site, you may want to get in contact with Sharon and ask her if she has any burial cards on them. (And even if she says she doesn't, that still doesn't mean they aren't there. We came across this 'problem' once with a little girl's burial - no card on file yet we kept our eyes open and found her.) Let us know how you do with Sharon, and we'll be more then happy to photograph the graves when they are found.

You are very welcome. It was such a great feeling to see the marker flags out today. We're so glad that we've been able to help. If there are any other photos you'd like - or any ancestry help - please don't hesitate in asking.

Your new friends,

Hi Diane, We just returned from Royal Palm and the grounds crew had your uncle's grave marked this time. We were so happy to see that. I've posted the photos up on Florent's site.

Hi Diane,
We went to Royal Palm this morning and checked the area for Florent's grave. The grounds crew was in that area doing some mowing and weed whacking, etc. We didn't see any flag marker though. You may want to give Sharon a call at Royal Palm and see if the work order has been fulfilled. We'll keep our eyes open and keep you up-to-date.

RE: Florent Dionne/Royal Palm Cemetery
Hi Diane,
Glad we could offer some suggestions on finding the Florent Dionne grave. The office lady (Sharon) is wonderful, and I'm not surprised that she was more then happy to help. We'll be going back to Royal Palm next week and will keep our eyes open for the marker flag. If nothing shows up by the end of next week, we'll let you know. The grounds keepers have been really busy lately with mowing as we've had a lot of rain, so they may be a bit behind schedule. We'll make sure to keep you posted.

Florent Dionne/Royal Palm Cemetery
Hi. We go to Royal Palm Cemetery at least twice a week taking photos for Find a Grave photo requests. We've been pretty lucky. With Florent's exact grave location - 179-8-1, we thought it would be easy. Not so. A lot of the graves in this cemetery have sunken, and we believe this may be the case with Florent's. What you may want to do is contact the office and ask them to put a flag marker on his grave. With that done, we will be more then happy to return and photograph what they have found. Good luck.

Leah Smith in Riverside Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, MI
I uploaded a photo of Leah's stone today, however nothing is readable on the front of her stone. I actually don't believe there was ever anything engraved on it. Her name across the top is readable. Please see the memorial for Vergie (or Virgie) Smith whose stone is next to hers. The front says "son of Paul & Leah Smith" so I assume this is the correct Leah.

Hi Diane,

I would love to have copies of those ancestry birth and death documents on Adolph and Sarah. I no longer have an ancestry account. My email address is jan_zewari@verizon.net. Really appreciate getting this information.

Thanks again,
Jan

Hi Diane,

You don't know how long I searched for a death record for Adolph. I am grateful for your find.

Was also wondering what your source was for the birth dates for Adolph and his wife Sarah Searles. I had only what I found in the 1900 census.

I do not have a tree on Ancestry. Was wondering if you know Bob Gauthier. He has done extensive research on the SPENARD family.

Thanks for your message,
Jan

Hi,
Guess what? I FINALLY got a new picture for you for Curtis Edwards' page. I think you said he was your father?
I have waited for one year and one day for this opportunity to get just the right shot that I was hoping to get. :-]
I bet you thought I had forgotten all about this by now?
The other picture I put on there was when he was first buried and there was still a bunch of bare dirt on the ground on one side of his gravestone. The sod was filled out there a long time ago but I waited clear until Fall again because you said he loved Fall and the beautiful leaves.
We don't have many sunny days around here this time of year but today we did and I done did it. I got a new pic of the area with all the grass filled in and the new Fall leaves.
Somebody told me I am not OCD, that I am CDO. That is being OCD with all the letters in their proper alphabetical order. Har har. I thought that was a pretty funny one.
God bless,
Nathan

Diane,

My great grandfather was indeed Charles! Adolph has been pretty much of a brick wall for me. He left home when he was young was the story I was told and he didn't stay in contact with the family. He settled in Philadelphia. I found his marriage and know of a daughter he had but could never find a death date or place of burial for him and his wife.
My mom and her sister were very close to Della. They called her "Cousin Della." I, too, used to visit her at her home in St. Anne and then in the nursing home. She was a very generous person.
I was born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana, but I now live in Maryland.

Diane,

Yes, my mom's maiden name was Spenard. In fact, she was named after Della Spenard Munson. My grandfather was the nephew of Della's father, Philemon. Small world.

Do you have a John B. Paradis in your family. Mine is buried at St. Patricks, he married a distant cousin. Could use help if you can. Thanks, Anita

Hi,
I got pics per your request. Curtis's gravestone has just been set very recently. They just put the sod on his row but the rows below his stone have not had the sod placed yet. It probably won't be long. I will keep an eye on it and will see if I can get a better picture of the area when they get more sod placed below his stone.
