I am not related to Tom Murrell. I found him as I was searching for Murrells that went to Tennessee from North Carolina. It stated on his death certificate that he had no doctor and cause of death (a cold) was given by Mrs. E C Freeman. His other information was given by Tom Rhodes. What a great thing to restore the cemetery. I will look out for others as I search Giles Co. I am going to transfer him to you so he, with the others, will be in your care.

|Leigh Tims||Virginia Lee Topp|
I am Leigh Ann Tims. My father was Robert Topp Tims (deceased June 2009) the son of Virginia Lee Topp. I just posted a young pic of her on the site with a note. Are you related to us? We never knew my dad's side of the family well at all but heard of them through VLT - Grandmother Gin. I hope you get this message. Anyone else having info please respond. We (my brothers and I) are from VA. Both our parents (mom was Elena May Curtis Tims) were from Mississippi - Mom from Biloxi and Dad from Gulfport. Thanks all!

HI, I live a few miles from the Elm Ridge Cemetery , the GV Masonic Cemetery is a section at the Elm Ridge. There is also a Masonic Cemetery at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Nevada City also in Nevada County just a few miles away. I looked online at the names listed at both and didn't see Thomas Topp listed, but that does't mean he isn't there. I'd be happy to stop by and look for him, and take pics if I'm lucky .

Bruce, the cemetery states that they are buried together, but only George has a stone. I have been there twice (got chased by rain today) and could not find the stone. I will go back on Saturday, when weekend help is there and I can look at the records. Will let you know what I find. Andrew

Ok they are all yours! It's too bad the stone is coming off the base. This is a very old section of the cemetery.

I've posted the photos. There are no dates on the stone. If you have the dates and any other information about the Claiborne's I'll be happy to add it to the memorial. Also, let me know if you would like them tranferred to you.

Thank you Bruce for adding the memorials, I've added all the photos. Sorry about the schmutz on the nameplate, I'll take another photo next time I am there.
The Tomales Presbyterian Church was rebuilt in 1868 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. I believe they take great pride in the church and cemetery, so they should have thorough records for you. There is also the Tomales Regional History Center which has a nice record room, open on weekends.

I knew the cemetery had been destroyed, but I was hoping that someone might have a picture of his marker. The cemetery was/is appx 1/2 mile from me. I know the person that has the land leased and do not talk to him. He is some kind of @#$^. You would just have to meet him. On the surface he will make you think that he is so good, but that is wrong. No I'm not kind to anyone buried there. Just doing a book/CD on Confederate soldiers from Giles County, TN or that are buried here. If you have info on Eugene I would appreciate it if you would share it with me and I will gladly give you credit. You can email me at email@example.com
I appreciate your response.

I don't believe Kent or I are related to Col. Ross. I just enjoy researching the history behind the stones.

Hi Bruce - I just transferred your Topp family to you. I do not mind transferring family as long as they are not in my tree. I have taken over stewardship of an inactive member, so if you by chance find other family that I may have just ask and I will transfer them to you. Take care - Cindy

Col. Gordon was born on April 6. Thanks for posting the true gravesite. Pity how neglected the Lane cemetery is. Shameful, actually. I assume you are related to the Topps who resided at Mont Gordon when it burned? Your effort is appreciated.

That has happened to me several times. I go to create a new memorial and someone else had just created one a few days or weeks prior. I am glad when family are able to maintain family members memorials.
Added by Alicia on Aug 12, 2012 9:03 PM
I see you have created a memorial for Clarence J. Meixsel and Rita Frey Meixel. I created one for their daughter Judith. Are Clarence and Rita your ancestors, if so would you like to maintain Judith's memorial.
