William Cook; distant cousins?
Hi Melissa,
My name is Megan. I went to leave a photo request for William A. Cook and his wife, Nancy Smith, but I was informed that you already had (there can only be one request per memorial). Would you happen to be related to these two as well? They are my 5th-great-grandparents. I was just wondering, thought it'd be neat if we happened to be cousins! Also, hopefully, this marker gets photographed soon!

They are in one of my family trees. Do you use Ancestry? If you look me up there under my name or sandyspastimes or email me through my email on here and I can foward it that way

Bill Hammers
I have researched the area again and counted off the spaces from Flo's grave since she was o1-01 and there is no headstone for Bill Hammers.

I have been unable to locate a stone in the given location however, there was a Jenna Flo Hammer. I will post this picture and continue to look for Bill Hammer.

Melissa thank you for taking the pictures. No I did not create the cemetery here on Find a Grave but I did create the memorials. Amelia was a 4th cousin.

Bellamy Family X 3
Hi, Melissa!

First - thank you for your hard work here on Find-A-Grave! It is greatly appreciated!

Do you mind posting the photo you posted on Amy M. Bellamy's memorial (her real name is Anna M., as depicted on your photograph - she is on memorial # 43255000) onto her husband's and son's memorial's, as well?

Her husband is Robert Lee Bellamy (memorial # 43255003) & her son was Joseph Buford Bellamy (listed as Buford Bellamy on memorial # 43255001).

I could save the photo, myself, and post - but, then you are the one who took the photo and should be the one to share on the other two memorials! :)

Please let me know if you need further info to post the photo for me. I'll be happy to help in any way that I can!

RE: Dickey
Join the club. My memory is not what it use to be either. I just thought Hervey dickey might be a relative. i will be anxious to see if he is. He died rather young too from some sickness that cause him to leave college.

I am sorry but I left my message on your messages by mistake. It was suppose to go to Teresa Hines instead so you can just delete it but I was looking at your messages is the reason I did that. I did want to ask you if you are a relative of Hervey Dickey and if you are, I have added a picture of him and will be adding a biography of him also that I got from a old 1900 college yearbook

Hervey Dickey
Thanks so much for taking that picture. I am curious why is that stone there without writing on it? Also, can you read to me what the big stone says. I can't quite make it out. Was there information on other family members on it? Also, the stones in that cemetery seem to have been attacked by moss and mold. Just curious, when that stuff builds up on them, does it permanently damage the stones or are they able to be cleaned?

RE: J. Dickey
There were stones surrounding the plague, but they were just small broken or worn stones. No writing on them, that was not readable.

RE: Boland
If you go to the website for the Historic Linwood Foundation ( you will find burials records. There are burial records for the Old Cemetery and then another alphabetized section for other old burials. For the old cemetery records, I see no one else listed with his section/lot (4/411). There are other Bolands in the cemetery, but in other areas/sections. Thus, I would assume he is the only one in that lot/plot.
Sincerely, Linda

RE: Skinner Cemetery request

I plan on going up that way sometime this week and I will definitely look for this cemetery. In the meantime you can see what I have done so far here: and find other info on cemeteries in Pasquotank here:
I do have a 1940's listing of cemetery transcriptions on the site as well.

Keep your fingers crossed that I can find the Skinner Cemetery!

I will still see if I can find anything. It may be a little while before I get to that part of the county but I will put it on my list to get and let you know.

If you can give me a location for this cemetery I will be glad to go out and photograph it and place the photos online.

No worries. You are so great about taking the time to correct. Besides... you are not the first to have a photo look one way only to have it go into Find A Grave in a different direction. Bugs are everywhere, even in the phones. grins.

The photo you added to her memorial is sideways. Thank you so much for your time and effort to fix it.

Francis Herring @ Forest Park
I see you added a picture request for Francis Herring @ Forest Park Cemetery in Houston. If you would call the cemetery at 713-928-5141 and get a "SECTION" and "LOT" I will try to get the picture you want. This is a very large (225+) acre cemetery and without a location would be very hard to find.

Thank you,

Thank you for this photo and for going out on a bleak day to take it. May I copy your photo into a private tree on, giving you credit?

Albian Blout
Oops hit the wrong key...It is possible that she is listed on the back of another stone. I did not put that picture on there so not for sure. I tried to find her husband and where he might be buried but found no death cert. Albian is listed on the 1880 census and then is dead by 1881. He is listed on the 1930 cenus with a different wife. I will keep looking and let you know if I found anything. Good luck. Janet
