Just transferred to you - so happy to bring families together. also transferred Madison and Susie to you. Those are the 3 Godwins I found at Riverview Cemetery. The update of Riverview Cemetery was a major undertaking for several of us. Hope we have enabled you to find your lost family members.

Cannot find a marker for John Young. A fire destroyed some of the old records. John Young could be buried there but the cemetery doesn't have a record. Block 36 does have the McCann family markers. Do you have any other info? Do you know where the Block 36 information come from? I'm still trying.

Hi Janelle, I can tell you that Hugh is not buried in Pottstown Cemetery. I have researched it. Please move your request to Mt Zion Cemetery which is in North Coventry Township, Chester County, PA. I can send you proof if you want it. I am trying to clean up the errors listed at Pottstown Cemetery.

Isabella Hillis

I am Isabella Hillis Baker's great great granddaughter. I am looking for information on the Hugh and Elizabeth Hillis family from Lancaster County and Philadelphia. Which Hillis child (Robert, Mary Ann or Isabella) do you come from?

Hello Janell, I have checked at the cemetery office for this person and there is no record of him buried there. Can you offer proof that he is ther? At this stage I would suggest that you cancel the photo request and place him with a designation of cemetery unknown. This would eliminate uynnecessary efforts of other to look for a marker that does not exist.

There is no marker for Henry Sturges. Next to where his marker should be was a marker for Seth Sturges. I did take a pix of that one. Sorry couldn't be more help.

Forgot to include this info from Cedar Grove for your memorial:
the graves are in section C, plot 68. "Approximately 2 years ago the cemetery and a local genealogical researcher were able to secure a monument for Mr. Houck as he was a Civil War Veteran." - Cedar Grove.

Hi Janell

1st I am not related to this family

2nd A Speicher line of mine changed their name to Spycker, For answer unknown

Sometimes there is a falling out in the family.

During the Civil War many names were changed to be more Anglicized & stayed that way during service & continued after the war

I have a Schuster line that changed to Shuster when a new Schuster family moved close to them, to diferentiate

I know of a Wertenberger line, that changed its name to Whittenberger to blend with a neighborhood name, when there was a falling out with the father

Sometimes a memorial stone is spelled wrong & it is cost prohibitive or they got a great deal because it wasn't quite right

I know this doesn't answer your question, but it is all I know
