Adolpho A Conchetta Chacon
Hello Rose,

I am building my husband's family tree, but have run into problems on his mother's side of the family. I noticed Adolph(o) (born in New Mexico) was a cousin of yours and was wondering if you could confirm that his mother's name was Anchita and his wife was Ann Lobe Harris. We also do not know Adolph(o)'s father's name.

We know that Adolpho had three daughters (Patricia Kay Chacon, Beverly Chacon and Rose Marie Chacon) and that they lived in Inglewood, California.

If you have any other information on the family tree, we would be very grateful.

Thank you for your time and help.

Kind Regards,
Melissa

New Ferro family Findagrave memorials
Hi Rose,

I just wanted to let you know that I added Findagrave memorials for Isabelle Navarrete Ferro (Mem # 150172253), her former husband Marcel Ferro (Mem # 150264526) and their son Marcel Ferro (Mem # 150264706). Isabelle was the daughter of Elizabeth Arriola Navarrete, one of Fortunato Arriola's daughters.

Best regards,

Patrick Carroll

Cota family
Hi Rose, just found your notations on several memorials that you are related to the Cota, Ruis, Rios family line out of Flinn Springs. What an amazing family you descend from.

I work with the research group "Descendants of Old Town (San Diego)". Many years ago I met with Dora Houk & she was kind enough to allow us to take a photo of her beautiful bubble glass framed portraits of Cayetano Cota and his wife Benerita Ramirez.

We now have a web site for our submitted family groups & old photos, thought you might want to check it out. You will have to register to view our contents but it is free.

If you look at the photos individually, credit to the photographer was given. I think if you use them, and give credit, there shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't claim them as your own.

Those photos were taken by Bleasdale Family Tree @ ancestry.com. I can't give you permission, but if I remember correctly, they were ok with me using them. It's been a bit, and I have memory issues lately.

Rose,

My pleasure photographing Yvonne's marker for you. Please feel free to post it anywhere you wish.

I tried several times to photograph the marker and uploaded the best photo taken. Time (and years of lawn maintenance/power mowers) has taken it's toll on the marker which appears to be worn down a bit. I wish I could have taken a sharper/clearer photo for you, but this was the best out of 7 attempts.

Rose ... you're very welcome! That indigent area is a sad reminder that someone passed through this life and probably ended alone.

Hi Rose, That's right, there is no marker. I am not done putting up the photos, there are a couple more. One view is from the left, one from the right, and one just at the gravesite. The site is Section I (as in Ivy), lot 115. :) Titania

RE: Thanks
From what I could see yesterday, the inscription on Alvin Arriola's niche plaque/urn was limited to his name and dates of birth/death.

But this morning I found this -- an Oakland Tribune death notice, published April 10, 1959:

ARRIOLA, Sadie, M. in Emeryville
April 8, 1959, beloved wife of Alvin
Arriola; loving mother of Charles L.
Keupper.

Friends are invited to attend the
funeral Saturday April 11 at 11
a.m., from the John J. Cox Pied-
mont Memorial Chapel, 4016 Howe
Street Oakland. Rev. William B.
Prince officiating.

- - -

Because Chapel of the Chimes is located between Howe and Piedmont streets, I had a hunch and called Chapel of the Chimes to ask about Sadie Arriola, 1959. Success!

Her name was Sadie Mary Arriola, and she's located in the same niche! I just couldn't see there were two names, from so far away.

Fine with me. If you give me your email, I'll send you some pics of his parents' headstones, Enrique and Elizabeth Navarrete. My email is pchas@comcast.net. Frank Navarrete was my great grand uncle.

RE: Picture of Lolita Everson's marker
Hi Rose

Yes, you are very welcome to use the photos, if you're posting on ancestry, then a credit line would be nice.
The flowers at Lolita's were already there, and still fresh.
I posted a picture for Nazario. His grave does not have a headstone, so I posted a picture of the area. He lies in the sun in front of the tree.

I moved to SD in 1968 and there was a dairy in Mission Valley then. SD has changed a lot since then.
