The name on the memorial is spelled with one s instead of two. He was the William married to Ormazinda. I believe there are two memorials made for him in the same cemetery. Try the number above. Deb

I came across a mention of William's death in a local newspaper. It's from 1881 so it's not the easiest to read (smudgey). Thought you might want to take a look-it is a very odd article indeed! I added it his memorial at Mount Pisgah Cemetery. I'm not related, just doing some research and the story caught my eye

I've never been able to find sources for his father. I notice several family trees on Ancestry show him to be John W. Wayne, Sr., who married Jane Mulligan. I did find a source that said he was the cousin of Gen. Anthony Wayne. Let me know if you find any further information.
