RE: John Foster Brock
Hi Mike:

Thanks for the message. John's wife Sarah McCall is my relative, actually. I don't really know anything about the Brocks, unfortunately.

Frank Hislop
Frank shares a stone with Ella V. Hislop, 1857-1909. Would you like to create this memorial?

Hislop - Fernwood
Just uploaded a photo for Ebenezer. Catharine is on the stone with him. She already had a memorial so I've uploaded the photo there too.

Best,

I have photographed this entire cemetery, as small as it is. Those that don't have photographs were added from a listing provided by the church records. I think you'll find most, if not all, of the entries to this cemetery were put out there by me.

It is unlikely that your tombstone photo request will be realized. Your call if you want to leave it out there. Good luck with your research.

James Brown- Stanhope Union
Hello! I was looking around Stanhope Union Cemetery today and I came across a section of Browns near the gate in the older section. However a lot of the stones there are really worn and some are broken, laying on the ground. I did not see a James Brown and was wondering if you may have any other information. I live really close to the cemetery and do not have a problem going back to look again. I figured I would ask if you had anything else to go off of. Thanks!

Laurie LaPage
Clarissa Stark Briggs in Ft. Covington, NY
Hi, Mike, I found Clarissa's stone today and took a photo, however, I didn't realize until I uploaded it that it is out of focus. I will return to this cemetery soon and retake it, and will "trade" it for this fuzzy one. Take care, LLaPage PS I am still looking for Luther Stark's grave...this very old cemetery is in terrible condition with many of the stones "buried" in the earth and almost completely covered up.

Kelly Lehman
Samuel Jackson Dodd
Mike,
I work with the man who takes care of the Georgeville Cemetery and he tells me that he believes that a lot of the older folks just have an actual stone marker with no writing. He is looking into this to be certain and will get a picture of anything that is considered a marker for Samual Jackson Dodd.
He also has on record the following (you may already have):
"He enlisted August 20, 1862 in Co. "F" 121st. Rgt. PA Vol. He died September 5, 1885 as a result of wounds received.
He was married to Rachel E. Brown Jan. 5, 1860. They had sixteen children. Rachel married (2) Moses Slawson. She died 14 January 1918 and is buried in Rockland Cemetery. Rachel was the daughter of John H. and Ellen Tate Brown.
Samual Jackson Dodd grave is marked only by a small field stone."

I also have a copy of the write-up for Jacob Dodd, Anna Dodd, Anna L Dodd, and Elizabeth Dodd if you're interested.

Ellen H
Strong
Hello,

I will be following up with your request of a monument. I see other vital info is missing regarding John Strong, if you wish I can see what other info I can find as well. I am the researcher and President of the Santee Historical Society, a town butted up against El Cajon. One of our members was adopted by a couple by the last name of Strong 70 plus years ago. It would be awesome for her to find a relation.
