RE: Ann M. Sullenger

Added by MarthaEve on May 21, 2016 11:19 AM

I got distracted while writing my previous note. I was meaning to write that Ann and Hattie were cousins...and for some reason typed that they were sisters.

Ann M. Sullenger
You have added "Hattie" as a nickname for Ann to your heading. Ann and Hattie are, in fact, two different people but they were sisters. When Ann died, her husband, John, married her sister Hattie. Hattie was my grandmother.

Marg Layton
grave marker for Alex Laudner, Jr.
Dear JanW:
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for going out of your way to send me pictures of the grave of Alex Laudner, Jr. He was my grandfather, Henry Schimpf's nephew. It means so much to me to have this information for my family history. My grandfather originally immigrated from Galka, Russia with his older sister, Katherine Elizabeth Schimpf in Dec. 1909, arriving at the port of Philadelphia. He eventually moved up to Canada, and did not have much of an opportunity to see his relatives in Kansas. I am so touched that you would honor my request for a photo of these family grave sites, as I also live in northern Canada, and have not had an opportunity to visit Kansas yet. Now I am determined to walk where my relatives have walked during their lifetime. You have blessed my life by helping me this way.

Sincerely, Marg Layton

Pictures of grave
My deepest thanks for taking the time to send me a picture of Lydia Laudner's grave. As I live in northern Canada, it is most humbling for me to be able to have someone like you go out of your way to find her grave. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I really appreciate it, as I have been trying to gain as much information as I can for my family history. Lydia was my grandfather's niece, and none of my family has been to Kansas. Now I have good reason to do so.

FAG Transfer
I have transferred his memorial to you, there is no problem creating memorial where the final resting place is unknown, we would never record people who were cremated and Find A Grave has a section for people cremated when ashes are handed to family, It is hoped eventually a final resting place can be found for him and linked, if we didn't create a page for him all his links and info you have at the moment would be lost.

Thank you so much for the information on the son Lars Melvin Norbert although I could find no memorial for him on Find A Grave I have created one for him and linked him to his parents, I have also on his page made a note of his second wife and linked him to his first wife buried at Grand Junction

RE: Edna Atkinson Scott
No, no relation, The Scotts were our neighbors and they are buried in the same cemetery as my mother and several other relatives. Thanks for the offer anyway.

...and thank you for looking for Lucinda Siebert's grave as well! Since none of my three requested individuals turns out to have a grave marker, I am guessing the original volunteer who created the memorials must have worked from Marion Cemetery records, rather than from walking through the cemetery.

I appreciate the extra effort you put in to research these people.

Thank you!
Thank you for going to Marion Cemetery on my behalf. I'm sorry there were no grave markers for Wesley Hunsperger and Arthur Dockstader. I will remove my photo requests for those two. Thank you also for posting the news clip about Wesley Hunsperger -- it was very thoughtful of you to do a search on his name!

Regards, David Hunsberger, Arlington, Virginia (a very distant cousin)

Wow, Jan, that was fast! What a really nice photo you got, thank you for doing this and adding it to Robert's memorial. As a photo volunteer myself, I know some time and effort goes into this "hobby". Thank you for your contributions to findagrave, it's such a great thing. Take care, Amy

Mary Yates, Marion: Would you like to manage her memorial?

Thanks your your kind offer but just off loaded my 1,700 to someone who I thought would be a good caretaker....

No need for me to have this listing but it is very kind of you to offer. You are the kind of person which makes this work a joy; keep up the good work!
