I am related to Nancy Elizabeth Brock Newnham, she was my Great Great Aunt, her brother Ransom Samuel Brock was my Great Great Grandfather, his son William Elmer Brock was my Great Grandfather, he had a daughter named Annie Brock, she married Ray Ervin Lanning, my Grandparents. If you know about the Newnham's. Rice Newnham's sister Sarah Ann Newnham married Ramson Samuel Brock, they were my Great Great Grandparents. I have researched this family for years, r

RE: Sampson Turner
Hi, Lois May Rhodes and Patricia Turner Ritchie published a new book this summer The James Turner III and Margaret Fulk Turner family. It is over 800 pages and is quite detailed. You may be interested in one. They give some info about James I, and James II, but focus on James III and his children.
Isaac Turner, his son, was my great great grandfather. OK, enough about me...........
In this book, I found Sampson Turner (1825 - ??) married Sarah Smith. I doesn't have any other dates for them listed or children. His father was John Turner (1803 - about 1854)married (1) Christena Ritchie - 3 children, (2) Catherine "Katie" Bare - 13 children. John's parents were
John "Long John" Turner (born between 1750 and 1760 and died between 1840 to 1850. He married Elizabeth Surity. "Long John's" parent was James Turner I, born about 1732, have no idea who his wife was, but the book lists he had 8 children.
It says that there is more info in the book "Turner Family of Brocks Gap, Rockingham County, VA" compiled by Patricia Turner Ritchie, 1993.(she also helped compile this new one).

I hope some of this helps you. Feel free to e-mail me if you need anything else.

Maria Zetty and James Turner I
James Turner and Maria Zetty Turner were my 5th great grandparents on the Turner side of the family. Maria was born in 1735 and died in 1806. I also have a Peter Zetty (born 1802)and his wife Susan (born 1803). Their daughter, Sarah Zetty(born 1838) was married to Levi Shoemaker. They are my 3rd great grandparents on the Miller side of my family. All of them lived in the Genoa area of Fulks Run, Rockingham County, VA.
