I attempted to link Minnie to her father but was unsuccessful. Would you please check the number for him again?

There is no connection that I know of between the the Boyntons and the Boylstons. There should be a genealogy of the Adams on HeritageQuest, which may be available online from your local library. If not, maybe I could look it up for you.

David Sharp
Spurling, Alfred
My wife and I have been purchasing and placing stones for our grandparents that either didn't have one or they are just gone. Alfred is the 4th one. I saw your request some time ago, and we were still on number 2. When we got the stone set the other day I put it on Mount Vernon that same day. I have 9 grand parents in Mount Vernon. Leroy Hamilton is another one that we placed a stone for. He is a oddity also. He is my fourth great grandfather on my dad's side and my 5th on my mom's. Just thought you would enjoy the connection. Thanks Dave Sharp

RE: Ella McGaughey
Hi Clive -

Thank you for updating and transferring her memorial.

Regarding the spelling of Ella's maiden name, the original immigrants from County Antrim N Ireland spelled it McGaughey. It was the subsequent generations' variations in pronunciation of the name that led some to change the spelling. Ella's father, Patrick Perviz, obviously pronounced it "Mc Goy" rhymes with "Mc Coy". The trainer (Shug McGaughey, my 4th cousin) of this year's Kentucky Derby winner pronounces it "Mc Gay Hee". Two other pronunciations I have come across in researching my great grandmother's family are "Mc Gay Hey" and "Mc Gaw Gee". Even though Patrick Perviz and some of his siblings [including my great grandmother] pronounced the name "Mc Goy", Patrick and his sons are the only ones I have found who actually changed the spelling to more closely match the way they pronounced it.

Linked Lavinia's memorial to Patrick's as you suggested. Waiting to hear from the creator of Patrick's memorial regarding one of his sibling's memorial she also created before leaving a SAC for Patrick.

thanks again/

RE: Edinger from Marion Co, Iowa
I have a second obit for Mary Edinger from the local paper in Marysville. Catherine is buried near Martha and she died about a year before Martha did - I do have the date somewhere - will have to look for it - I am also going to order Alexanders pension file as it should give me details about where and when he died and from what. I will look and see what info I have on Minnie. Dianne

Edinger from Marion Co, Iowa
John Edinger died the first week of April 1895 - I have his obit - it was dated 4/10/1895 and just said he died one day last week of the grippe (flu) - and that he was 84 years old

Also Alexanders body is not lost - its buried somewhere in Iowa - maybe even in Marysville in an unmarked grave. He mustered out of the military in April 1865 in Davenport, IA - same time as Newton did - I believe he either died shortly afterwards in Davenport, died somewhere between Davenport and Marysville or shortly after arriving back in Marysville. But he had to be alive to muster out - I am sure Newton would not have left him and went back to Marysville - so believe he is buried somewhere in Iowa - just have no idea where. Dianne H

The info you sent us about the wild cats you should put on your bio page, makes an interesting story to read, and we transferred your brother in law.

she was divorced in dec. 1905. the article is entitled "She Was Unhappy"! the article lists his name as albertis.

I checked the five obit listings and they seemed to be a rehash of the first one. there is a photo of her in her coffin somewhere.

"she leaves a companion, a mother, an aged stepfather, two brothers, lee and cicero perkins, and one sister, mrs. john mccollom" (Crawfordsville Daily journal 10/31/08)
