I (hopefully) sent you a message on Ancestry about copies of the Crawfordsville Cemetery records. Did you receive or did I send to wrong person?

|KLucas||RE: Old vs, New Crawfordsville|
The old and new C'ville cemeteries are located right next to each other. They are just west of "downtown" (ha!) Crawfordville along the north side of the paved county road.
(I say that laughing because Crawfordsville is a tiny town that used to have a flashing yellow light which is now a 4-way stop in the center of town. I think there may be 150 people. There's a bank, post office, 1 church, a feed store and a lumber yard. Don't blink or you will miss it!)
The cemeteries are separated by a gravel road and the county maintenance shed. The old is on the east side of the gravel road and the new on the west. I grew up in the house just a quarter mile up that gravel road so the cemeteries have always been a point of reference for me, but I was never in the "Old" cemetery until just this week.
I also noticed the reference to Riverside on this site, but as you discovered, that is several miles up the road. I'm not quite sure how to correct the name or if it would only lead to more confusion, but I do know the records I obtained make the distinction between Old and New. It appears the last death date for the Old is around 1910, but most are from the mid 1880s. Any recent burials are only in the New.
Hope that helps! I always enjoy helping fellow researchers.

I can't guarantee I'll get photos of everything (the rain and wind don't seem to want to let up!) but when I return home, I'll be glad to scan the records I copied with listings for both the Old and New cemeteries and send to you. The new records are a little dated and may not have all of the most recent burials, but there are several listed and I remember seeing the McKee's. (There are also new and old sections of the new cemetery just to confuse things a little further!)
Feel free to contact me if you think of any others. I'm sure we'll be able to sort them out eventually ;)

|KLucas||RE: Nancy McCahon Holmes|
Yes, you are correct...her husband Thomas should also be moved to Old C'ville.
If I remember correctly, it is just one stone, with their names on different sides and both are listed in Row 28 on the records I obtained.
Thomas Holmes, 71 yr, died 1/26/1884
Nancy Holmes, 82 yr, died 3/26/1895
Hoping to get back to the new cemetery for more photos in the next few days.

|KLucas||RE: William Gormly|
The records between Old Crawfordsville and the "new" Crawfordsville cemeteries are easily mistaken.
I have obtained a copy of the records for Old C'ville and plan to start transcribing/adding memorials when I return home. Unfortunately, I won't have time to photograph each stone this trip, but have taken photos of the requests posted on F-A-G.
I've also added photos of William S. gravestone but the stone is barely legible. I made out the William S. and matched to the listing I have with dates (8mo 11 da, died 5/18/1857) to verify location.
Hoping the make it through new C'ville in the next few days and will get photos of other Gormly's buried there for you.

Regarding Memorial# 14399947. The name is listed as Thomas DICKSON Brown, but the writeup by the submitter states Susannah Heaston married Thomas DEMPSEY Brown, which is the correct name. Could you please change the name to Thomas Dempsey Brown.

I had no doubts about Bertha being a Prather. I just had 20 things to do last night and did not follow my checklist thoroughly enough. Imagine that on a scatter-brained day! LOL! Fixed now, I hope. Holler anytime at all!

Please accept my apology in having entered this record incorrectly.
However, I have been unable to find the memorial. Would you share the memorial number with me so that I can correct my mistake?
Again, please accept my apology.
