My husband is Joe Gold and has done extensive Gold research (wrote a geneology book on the Golds) He has many pictures and at least 9 from the Gold Family Cemetery which was named by the WPA as the Daniel Gold Cemetery. He has replaced stones and had the old stone attached to the back, put a fence around the cemetery and had it cleaned up. He wanted to write to you personally but your e-mail does not seem to go through. He has a good picture of the stone of William Moore Gold and wife Catherine Washburn if you would like it. I am new to Find A Grave also. He has relatives in Georgia, Texas but mostly in North Carolina. We found one stone in Georgia recently of Sterling Christopher Gold that we had been looking for many years, and I have sponsored that one.

Hello, I am not related to any Purvis family. There is another Akridge grave in that plot. I believe she is Bessie.
Glad to help,

RE: Clement T Goode & wife
In answer to your question, no. I am not related. I have almost 4000 names in my family tree dating back to the 1500's and nobody by the name of Goode is in it anywhere.
I live within a short driving range to the site and wanted to help out. I hope that this will serve your needs and you find it helpful. If more is needed, I would be glad to help out.

Sorry about the two earlier messages, I was having trouble with my Kindle. Alonzo is my great grandfather. Is he a relative of yours also?

Mcswain and Hawkins
Alot of the Mcswain and Hawkins family was removed from Georgia to Oaklahoma during the indian removal...some stayed though...and noticed you are connected to the Mcswain and Hawkins family and Georgia.

Your more than welcome to join our facebook group as is anyone else connected to the Mcswain and Hawkins families.

I did not find alot of Mcswain history in Carroll county, Ga after removal..before the Mcswains had relations with Carroll county, Ga before 1838/1839.

The photos I seen so far on the Georgia McSwains look ALOT like the Mcswains who left Georgia for Oaklahoma and are now part of the Federal Cherokee.

I am trying to do some research on my fathers side of the family and information that I have been given a Mae Gracey Broadway Wood is buried at this cemetery her dates that I have are June 15, 1831 September 22, 1894. I was hoping that you might beable to check on this when weather is good. I do know that her sone is and the name is James David Wood. His fathers name is James H. Wood 1818-1876 Gracey is his second wife. Hope you can help me.

Carolyn Gainous
Spring Hill UMC Cemetery is loaded with the surname GAINOUS alright. The 2 that rhymned with your request I am not sure match your search. One is a CAROLYN ANN GAINOUS, (no date/no date)infant daughter of HENRY (b. 26 Sep 1897, d. 05 AUG 1987) & LAUNA MORRISON GAINOUS (b. 11 DEC 1901, d. 11 DEC 1983) who rest below a double marker on ROW 14, MARKERS 3 & 4, respectively, with CAROLYN at MARKER 5. There is a CARRIE GAINOUS (again no date/no date) daughter of L.L. (b. 07 MAR 1858, d. 11 OCT 1927) & ANGIE GAINOUS (b. 06 JUN(?) 1862, d. 14 JUN 1929). They are buried on ROW 5, at MARKERS 15 & 16, respectively and CARRIE at MARKER 19. Interestingly, along ROW 5, at about MARKER 9, is a black stone bench with a "GAINOUS FAMILY TREE" within a GAINOUS Family Lot. The "tree" follows about 5 generations from about 1810 to 1969. I shot a photo of it if you want to try to read it. The only other CAROLYN GAINOUS I find listed the "The Cemeteries Of Grady County, Georgia"(2005) or its "Addendum 2011" is buried in the Rackley-Dollar Cemetery. She was CAROLYN MULLIS GAINOUS (b. 09 DEC 1928, d. 24 JUL 1999) and shares a double marker with HERSHEL EUGENE GAINOUS (b. 13 MAR 1926, d. ------ ), on ROW 1 at MARKERS 4 & 3, respectively. I see no other GAINOUSes listed in that small cemetery. What was her maiden name? Could she have remarried or be listed under a different surname? The only other listing under GAINOUS with an initial C is a MAUD C. GAINOUS (again, no dates) another daughter of M/M L.L. GAINOUS and 2 MARKERS up from CARRIE. I also checked CONE and found no CAROLYNs, in the books. You can email me at if you wish.
