RE: Adam Scott
Hi Annette, Do you have any other details of Adams and Helen Scott's children other than Margaret. My GG grandfather Adam Scott b1825 Hawick for instance. Your Adams date of birth of 1798 is around the date I have been searching for a connection. Do you have any other details of the family, I don't have any of Adam Scott b 1825's brothers or sisters and as I am unsure we have his correct mothers name (Jessie Nicholson)? it has been going slow. There seem to be a million Adam Scott's and a lot of the families I have found have very similar children's names as well. If you have answers to any of the above questions we may be able to sort if there is a connection or not. I look forward to hearing from you.
Bye for now Clare

RE: Adam Scott
Hi Annette,
No, still have not found the GGG Grandfather- Adam Scott and family that I and many others have been looking for. Not sure if we have the right name for his wife (Jessie Nicholson) My G G Grandfather Adam Scott born 1825 his wife Mary Gillanders and their family and from there on I have, but going backwards in the Scottish side of things has hit a roadblock. Do you have any information on the Adam Scott you are looking for as there are many of them. Where do you live? And have you got the same descendants in his line that I have mentioned above. If so we have a connection . I look forward to hearing from you. Clare

Symbol on Joseph Warren Grave
I assume you are referring to the symbol of the man's hand pointing upward on the mans grave and a woman's hand pointing upward on her grave. I do not see a shield, however, this is the explanation..The hand pointing up acts as a road sign, telling visitors to this grave that the occupant no longer resides on the earth but has gone onward to heaven. The image shown above appears in graveyards from California to Virginia. While hand images are common elsewhere, a hand pointing up appears only inChristian cemeteries.Hope you find this info helpful.
