So nice to meet fellow descendants. I've been meeting quite a few so far on Family Tree DNA. You don't happen to know the cemetery Robert and Elizabeth are buried at perchance?
My wife and I are travelling to Texas to see my oldest son before he deploys overseas. Hopefully, I can do a graving search for those two ancestors.
Lastly, do you have an Ancestry.com account? I would love to check out your family tree and vice versa.

|Geneva G.||Transfer of Nance Memorials|
Chris: have made the transfers. If there are others you prefer to have- just let me know & I will transfer. I don't have much time to devote to research, etc any more & will be more than happy for them to transfer to someone who can devote more time to maintaining them. Thanks!

|Rose Lemus||Melvin Nance|
I have been searching for the location of Melvin Nance's final resting place and have not been very successful. I do not find anyone by this surname in the cemetery transcripts.
Do you have any clues that might be helpful?
Please e-mail me at, email@example.com, as I will answer more quickly.

Christopher, sorry I do not know him. He was 1 of my 1st listing trough Fohn. Since you are related I have no issue transferring him if you want.
What would be great is to know where he is buried & to connect him to his parents

Chris, I did read your request to know who was around the grave site. I went to leave a note but didn't have a chance to input one. The grave doesn't have any close by to suggest any connection.

|Joyce Nance-Woodcock||Nance family|
Christopher, Are you by any chance related to any of the Nance family out in western Kansas, around Great Bend?

|Mark A. Swafford||RE: Thanks Mark!|
You are more than welcome. The area that they are in isn't very well populated with graves. Most of the requests I've made over in that area weren't able to be fulfilled. I was very happy when I seen all of them. Enjoy!

|Ed||RE: Allen Nance photo request|
Apparently there were quite a few Johannes Rohrers back in the day. I am descended through Anna Barbara WEIDMAN & Johannes "John" Rohrer. Also many of the Johannes Rohrers shortened the Johannes to John. Many of my Rohrer ancestors came through Pennsylvania as well. Also settling in Lancaster County and later migrating to Pittsylvania County, Virginia. About 5 G Grandfathers back David Rohrer chaged the spelling to Rorrer to make it look more american.

Sorry! I walked the entire cemetery, no luck. The older section is south of the church, and many of the markers are unreadable or broken. I found a board trustee, and I'll see if he can help. In the mean time, I have unclaimed the request.

I have taken photos of the Nance headstone. I'm new to this, so I will now look at the Find a Grave site and see how to send them to you. I took 9 photos with closeups and distance shots.
FYI - the headstone is not in the main Mathewson Cemetery. It is located in the newer cemetery across the road, which I see listed as West Mathewson Cem. This area has only about 30 graves. The Nance headstone is a beautiful stone and stand just inside the gate next to a tree.
Will check now and see how to send these photos.
