I just sent you a Suggest a Correction note before I saw your message. This is per the Find A Grave guidelines. Lots of people don't understand this principle.
Maiden name of a married individual, if known (otherwise leave blank); the maiden name is automatically italicized and should only be used if the individual was married and took the spouse's last name as their new last name. If the deceased was never married, then the last name should be placed in the "Last Name" field, NOT in the "Maiden Name" field.

Raymond has a stone but after I posted my picture I realized there was already a picture so I deleted mine. Hazel has no stone but there is an obvious grave that looks fairly recent compared to the others there among the other Creasmans.

Yes, thanks for bringing it to my attention. Sometimes, & I don't know why, a double will pop up. Looks like it did here because they were both created on the same day. I deleted the double. Thanks!

Ok, I went ahead & transferred the others. I hope that was ok. I feel with your link to them you should manage the memorials.

Hello, I would be glad to make the edits but I went ahead & transferred her memorial to you. I wasn't thinking earlier or I would have when I transferred the other two. I'll go ahead. I'll check & if there are others, I'll be glad to transfer. :)

I sent a Word file to your email shown on a photo request. It is all the Hiltons in Va that I know of. I am going back to Bent Creek, probably on Friday. I will look for all your requests. I am taking a list of the Brooks memorials already set up and will add new memorials and photos for any Brooks not already done.

I found Nora Brooks but could not find Walter Barber. I did find four more Brooks markers and added memorials for them.

I was out that way this morning and took a picture of David's stone and new pix of the Sluders. No need for a request.

I transferred them all to you. I wish I could find family to claim all the memorials I established. The picture for David Brooks was a duplicate of G. W. Brooks' picture. I will go back there and look for his grave again soon, last time I tried it was surrounded by a corn field. I know he has a marker because I only established memorials for the markers I saw there. If you don't mind, would you do a photo request for him to remind me? One other photo was not very clear, a Sluder I think. Request that also and I will try to do better.

Jim, I am sorry for the delay in transferring this memorial over to you, but I had some things that kept me busy for the past month and I am just now getting back to Find A Grave. I have transferred him over to you, along with whichever family members I also had. If you find someonoe I've missed and would like them transferred, please let me know. Thanks.

|Edwina Moody||RE: Rebecca Jane Salyer Ramey|
The death date I have for Rebecca Jane Salyer Ramey is 21 Feb 1929. The site where I find obituaries for Johnson County, Kentucky doesn't have one for her in that year. There could be many reasons why an obituary isn't on the site though. One is that she did indeed pass away in West Virginia. Another is the obituary may have been missing from the collection although the site doesn't say there were any missing, but it could have happened. Of course, the death date could very well be incorrect too. I'm hoping to take a trip through Kentucky within the next year, so maybe I can take some time and search for more information about her then.

Isn't it a challenge that these families kept using the same names, over and over again? I keep being challenged with figuring out which person is which and when you add in cousins being given the same names within a year or two difference, you can go off on an accidental tangient SOOO easily! Rebecca had a cousin I believe by the name of Rebecca, but her parents were Joseph Elias Salyer and Rachel Sarah Blanton. I'm still trying to nail down her birth date, but so far I know she was born about 1850. I also had a problem for a little while with another pair of cousins by the name of Hoke Salyer, but I eventually got them straightened out. I'll keep researching, to make sure I have the right parents for everyone and compare what information I have and find. I'm sure it will all work out in the end. According to my research, Rebecca Jane passed away in Fort Gay, West Virginia. Maybe after her husband passed away, she moved there with one of her children. I'll try following them and see if I can find the cemetery she's buried in too.
Thanks for your help,

I saw that you had created the memorial for Charles G Ramey, Rebecca Jane Salyer's husband. I was wondering if you could tell me who her parents were? My husband is a Salyer descendant and I'm trying to research the family. I suspect her parents were Joseph Elias Salyer and Rachel Sarah Blanton, but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance for the help with the research.
