Aamli Cemetery
Thank you so much for the correction from Truengen to Aamli for Anne-Marit. I have made the change in Findagrave. I appreciate your work at finding and photographing this grave for me. Thanks also to you for info you gave me (which you might not recall) about a year ago. I have reconnected with several living relatives in Norway.

Bernt Einersen
Was there not an actual grave to photograph? I was also wondering if there were other Einersen family members buried next to him-as I cannot find out on my own since I live in California :) Thanks!

RE: Duplicated cemeteries in Norway.
Oh, thank you, the website had that cemetery named as Østre Fredrikstad Gravlund and I was expecting findagrave to have that same name and I had a hard time finding it. So I had to add another cemetery, but since it's a duplicate, I'll delete the cemetery I just added.

RE: Photo request:Trine Helene Yderstad.. Norway.
I was wondering if you could at least send a photo of the area where the cemetery is if it is still there? I apologize for taking so long to figure out this site. My request was sent in 2013. Sorry

Del Gran
Vestre Gausdal Cemetery
Thank you for the "official cemetery name" which you provided without me requesting. Also the cemetery coordinates for the map and considerable information about the "Gran's in Norway", DIS-Norge and Parish record web site links.

RE: Burial unknown.
I did some searching for the three persons you mentioned. I found marriage records, death records, and census records but nothing on cemeteries. If I lived near either of those places I would do some actual searching, but I am in Minnesota. Wish I could have helped.

You had previously taken photos of John Halvorsen, his wife Anne's grave in
Fjære Kirke
Grimstad kommune
Aust-Agder fylke, Norway
Would you please add those same photos to
Karen Gronli # 141856340
Her husband Karl Gronli #141856270
and her brother Arne Fjaere # 141856719.
As I have now created Find A Grave memorials for them. I hope I did it correctly.
Thank you Margaret Skiftenes

RE: Concerning baptism of my ancestor/ophaned when perhaps age 4-6
K. R. thank you kindly for trying... and for also passing along my info to the historical center. I'm afraid I may not get to learn who raised Anna and how they may have been related to her.

I appreciate your time spent towards helping me.

Happy Holidays and many blessings!

RE: Photos from Gravminner
I too have contacted Gravminner twice to seek permission to use their photos. No answer. I will now try to contact the photographers. Up until now I have only used my own photos or those with permission. Thank you for your help.

RE: Cemeteries in Norway
Thank you very much for enhancing the information with the interactive map and gps coordinates for the cemeteries in Norway. Any other information you have on any of the cemeteries is greatly appreciated. Have you ever asked Gravminner i Norge for permission to use one of their grave stone photos to complete a memorial in FindAGrave?

RE: Severine and Johannes Opheim
It is so interesting to know this. Thank you for letting me know. I had NO idea that those things still happen. They used to do it like that In America. Now days there are very strict rules with caskets being in cement vaults whether its underground or in a mausoleum. Once people purchase a cemetery plot it is their property. There are no other fees. They can use it or sell it to somebody else if they choose to. As far as I know people cannot be buried on their own personal property anymore. They used to do that a hundred years ago though.

What a sad thing that people buy headstones and the cemetery destroys them if a fee is not paid. I just cant rap my mind around that. It seems like there is something criminal about it but I am sure it is just the way it is. I read something on a website one time about another country doing the same thing. I think it may be England or Sweden. I cant remember for sure.

Anyway, Thank you so much for your help and for educating me, and for the photos that you took and posted... I really appreciate it...

RE: Severine and Johannes Opheim
Oh wow. Thank you for messaging me..

That just seems really sad :( Doesn't seem to be the right thing to do. Future generations have no place to go visit their ancestors. I would have paid the fee if I had known there was a fee and that the fee was not being paid.

It is always fascinating to learn how different cultures and societies handle things.

Does it mean that they place people in a wood box without a cement vault and they decay into the soil?

Would you know what they do with the old headstones?

Link: It is where I got the names of who is buried there.
