RE: Family
Yes Laura was my maternal Grandmother, and I loved her very much.I am her daughter MaryEllen's oldest daughter. I suppose we are first cousins once removed.
I remember Lawrence. If you send me your email I will send you pictures of two of the Gloeckler boys from 1920, and a picture of Charles Gloeckler's 2nd wife Tena holding Barbara and Beverly as babies. I also have pictures of Charles, Laura's father. And a picture of Leona and Bertha with my Grandmother as children. My personal e-mail is
Glad to hear from you anytime!

PS I probably also have family pictures of the farm in Waldheim somewhere.

RE: Forest Hill Cemetery Ziegenbein
Well, I did add Katherine Sullivan whose birth date on the Seeking MI website and death certificate shows 1862. I hope I did it right; it was my first time. I was not able to figure out how to add my grandmother to the memorial and I don't have any info on Katherine's husband, yet! Thank you so much for telling me about the Finding MI web. I have a lot of ancestors who lived there, but the web doesn't include many of the dates I need. Anyway thank you again!

Thanks very much for this info.I added meanwhile death year 1893 (what was your source?) to Henry Schwanekamp's Find A Grave-memorial page. Yes, please take a photo of the spot of grass, and post it to their Find A Grave-pages with a caption that this was the spot where they were buried, but there are no grave stones (anymore?).
Genevan doesn't ring a bell to me at all and I don't recognize a Dutch surname in it.

Thanks in advance and greetings from the Netherlands,

RE: Forest Hill Cemetery Ziegenbein
Ok, I think I figured it out. Katherine Sullivan is Anna's sister, Katherine Dunn Sullivan, born Nov. 1862 and died in Houghton Jan. 1933. I looked on to get dates. So there is no memorial?

I will try to transfer to me. What does that mean? Fred and Anna are my grandparents, and David and William my uncles.

Sorry about that! I was so excited to actually find someone... Thank you for letting me know.

RE: Forest Hill Cemetery Ziegenbein
Hello again, my grandmother is Anna Ziegenbein, 1865-1962. When I clicked on the Anna Ziegenbein who died in 1934 (Find a Grave website), my grandfather Friedrich (Fred 1868-1934) information comes up. I am not sure who that Anna Ziegenbein is, however Fred had a sister named Anna who is buried in Wisconsin (1862-1873.)

Anyway, thank you for all of your help! If you get over there again, maybe you could check for a headstone of the other Anna and send me a picture? That would be so kind of you to help me with my research.

RE: Austin Family in Forest Hill Cemetery
Thanks. I added a photo request today, but wondering if it is one of the duplicates. 😊

Austin Family in Forest Hill Cemetery

I see you recently added photos to the Austin Family members in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Did you get the impression that there are many duplicates of the Austin Family? I am researching this family and wondered about this because so many of the entries are confusing. Such as similar names with similar dates and various "spouse" related names added to the person's memorial name.

Just looking for some help to clarify some of my confusion. Thanks for all your help and contributions. I read your photo descriptions and appreciate that additional info!

RE: Forest Hill Cemetery Ziegenbein
Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I have been out of town.

I checked a copy of Anna's birth certificate which shows birth date March 17, 1866 and death February 19, 1962. I just saw the picture on the headstone that I couldn't find before. Thank you if you took this picture. I am not sure which birth date is correct, the death certificate or the headstone.

Thanks so much!!!

RE: Gagnon stone in Houghton Cemetery
My Charles Brayton married a (1st) Ann & (2nd)Mary Maher... aunts to Alice (Maher) Gagnon that married Eli Gagnon. I'm sure they're all related. My Brayton family name wasn't that common, which I'm sure are the only Braytons: Charles & his 3 children, in the cemetery. Thanks again

Thanks for the pics on the Gagnon stones.. if you ever run across the Brayton name in the cemetery, I'd really appreciate it. The cemetery isn't fully indexed. Thanks again...

RE: Charles Ramsey - Forest Hill - Houghton Michigan

Thanks so much for your generous offer of a transfer. I would be honored to maintain his memorial. I seem to be the "keeper" of the family "stuff", and did not know where he was buried, but quite by accident discovered your memorial. I've always been drawn to the very interesting photo of him, for some reason - almost theatrical. My Find A Grave member number is 47276975. Again, many thanks !!!

Harriet Raymond photo
Thanks so much for taking this photo. Harriet was married to C. Edward Raymond, who served in the 17th Connecticut Infantry Regiment in the Civil War, which I am researching. He died in the January 1, 1884 major dam break that occurred in Houghton, and I read that his body was only discovered downstream the following August. Did you by any chance see his grave near Harriet's? I have not been able to document a burial site for him, but that seems like the most likely place. Thanks again. BobR

RE: Lake View Cemetery - Lamella
Thank you for your patience, time, and work in trying to locate their headstones. You are so kind, and I really appreciate all you've done. I'm sorry for the delay in replying. When Able died, their 18 year old daughter married, and she and her husband raised her five younger siblings. They most likely could not afford headstones for her parent's graves. Yes, please post the pictures of the sections where Abel and Pritta Lampela are each buried. That would be very nice. Thank you again, and best wishes, Sue

That would be wonderful, if you could take a picture of section 17 for me. There must be no headstones for them. Thanks for looking. Jen
