Morgan Family
I just wanted to let you know that I went to the Crab Orchard Cemetery in Oakdale,TN on Saturday. I walked the cemetery twice going from stone to stone and did not find a marker for any of our family members. There are many many graves marked only by a rock or an indent in ground where you can tell a grave is but no marker.

Morgan Relative
My great-grandfather was George Ernest Morgan (memorial #40523138) son of Andrew and Amanda Morgan. We must be cousins! Do you have any pictures of Andrew or Amanda?

Dodson Family
Hello Bobby,
I have been researching the Thames, Doss and maybe the Dodson's. I lived in the Bamford area off highway 52 near the Jefferson and Shelby County lines. My Grand Parents "William Elsie and Willie Deese Allen lived there before Cherokee Beach was built, they own part of the property there too. My Parents and I lived on the hill adjacent to Shades Crest, I could see the blinking light as highway 52 went over into Jefferson County and I could see the train as it came through Generys Gap. I also remember two of the Dodson Boys that my grand father talked to a lot.
You can reach me at 256-770-4522 home or 901-487-6201.

Elizabeth is a 4th great aunt. I would be interested to know about the connection to the Dodson family. Is there any documentation of that relationship? One other Tree, by someone I know does good research, has Abraham Beckner as her spouse. I'll contact her as well. I don't see any documentation on her Tree right off. Would appreciate your response. It would be nice to add her spouse to my Tree.

John Lee
Trying to make a definite connections for the parents of Burrell Russell Lee born in 1804 died in 1877 in Bradley Co TN. He was my husband's 3rd great grandfather. Several suggestions lead to John Lee but it might as well be John Smith. Any ideas?

thanks again for photo of 1904 reunion of Co. C Ala. 19th in which John T. Holligsworth and Elisha B. Martin, his brotherinlaw, are pictured. Did you write the caption about the person with beard being John's brother in law? John would be my great, great uncle, since his sister, Terrisa Josephine Hollingsworth, is my great, great grandma. I am still trying to locate info on Josephine's second husband, William F. Martin. Is it possible that Elisha in the photo could be the brother of William F. Martin, Josephine's husband?
If you find any Martin's family trees or any info at all, please let me know. I was really happy to see that photo. Thank you, Maggie

Crab Orchard Cemetery
Hi Bobby,

I was wondering if you had photos of the headstones in Crab Orchard Cemetery for the Morgan's, specifically Andrew, Juda, Solomon, Minerva, and Robert. I am also seeking information about Robert's wife, whom I believe to be Elizabeth. Not sure if she is buried near him.

Thanks, Cheryl Morgan

Terrisa Josephine hollingsworth Martin
Recently I have discovered some information about my great grandmother, Josephine Hollingsworth Martin, buried in the Pratt City Cemetery. She was born Sept. 1st 1854 in Alabama. Her parents were Wesley Hall Hollingsworth and Susan Lee, who were married in Tennessee in 1836. She married Jasper Caldwell when she wasonly 18 and had 4 children by the time she was 25. Her husband, William Jasper Caldwell died at 31 yrs. old in Jefferson COunty on October 23, 1886. She then remarried William F. Martin from Kentucky, and had one more child, Willie Lee Martin, born 1893 in Birmingham, Ala. Willie Lee is my grandmother. I understand that Josephine had 3 brothers, John, Edward Columbus, and Needham Hollingsworth. I was surprised to see that Josephine(actually Terrisa or Terracy Josephine Hollingsworth Martin) was not included with children of Wesley and Susan Hollingsworth.I have a nice photo of her, if you would like me to send it!thanks, Maggie

I thank you, Bobby, on behalf of my good friend and mentor, the children's author Gloria Root Savoldi (1922-1995), who was the granddaughter of Josephine Hollingsworth (1854-1940) by her second marriage to William F. Martin.

I am researching this family, so if you would like more information, please contact me.

Spouse of Clifford J. Morgan

I'm searching for death or burial records for Clifford John Morgan's spouse, Mattie E.A. Morgan. She passed within 5 years of Clifford John, but I have not been able to locate a death certificate or burial record.

I know Clifford John is buried at Harriman. Following his death, Mattie may have moved back in with her parents who lived in District 1, Roane County according to 1920 Census records. I do know that in 1930 Mattie's parents moved to California with her child, but no sign of Mattie in the 1930 census.

I'd appreciate any information you can provide that might help me research records in TN. I've tried online searches for cemeteries but so far so luck. Pretty sure she must be buried in Roane County.

Ellis Hollingsworth
Hi, thank you Bobby for all of your help in tracing our family heritage. My name is Brenda Gail Sparks born Brenda Gail Hollingsworth. I am the oldest daughter of James Ellis Hollingsworth, Jr. His dad was James Ellis Hollingsworth, Sr. the son of Needham Wesley Hollingsworth and Margaret Hollingsworth. James Ellis Hollingsworth, Sr. was married to Rosa Hollingsworth, my grandma and grandpa. My dad was born in Bessemer, Alabama on January 29, 1921 and died October 17, 2010 in Oceanside, Calif. of cardiac arrest. My mother Edna Hollingsworth (Lackey) was born on August 22, 1929 in a home in Munford, Alabama. She is alive and well. Me and my two brothers Terry James Hollingsworth, and Tommy Ellis Hollingsworth were also born in Bessemer. Me: August 28, 1948, Terry: March 29, 1950, and Tommy: June 7, 1951. My two sisters Kimberly Ann and Karen Sue were born in Californis. Kim on January 30, 1960 and Karen on November 3, 1964. Thank you so much for the pictures and the information. The story we have heard about James Ellis Hollingsworth son of Needham Wesley was that he was shot by one of the guys he was playing cards or shooting craps with, because they thought he was going home to get a gun to shoot one of them. As far as I know the case was never looked into. We believe he was murdered. My dad had 4 siblings in age order: Margaret, dad, Wesley Earl, and Clara. All are dead now.

Clifford J Morgan
Thank you for sharing all the information you have gathered on the Morgan/Leffew family line. Hassie Mae Morgan's brother Clifford John was my paternal grandfather. Because Clifford and his wife Mattie Smith both died so young, not sure I could have tracked my father's roots without your help.

My father, Charles Andrew Morgan (1922-1965) was raised by his maternal grandmother. I had very little information about his family and it's been difficult to track because I wasn't even sure about his parents names. Mattie (Smith) Morgan died in 1926, and I've not been able to locate a death certificate for her yet, but I believe they were still living in Roane County, TN.

Anyway, I really did just want to thank you. You've done a tremendous amount of work gathering all the family information. I'm still feeding some of it into Ancestry and working with Ancestry genealogists to document it all. I can't tell you how grateful I am for all your hard work.

Capt Thomas Lee
I am confused about Capt. Thomas Lee. You have him as Thomas Greenbury Lee. I have seen others list him as Thomas Ludwell Lee. I have also seen two different sets of parents. I would think I have different people but the wives are the same in each record. The more I try to figure it out the more confused I seem to get. Any help on clarification would be appreciated. You can email me at if you want. Thanks. Kay Williams

I am not a Lee descendant, but my wife was. I have quite a bit of the Lee family genealogy that moved from Tennessee to NE Alabama and will be adding it to FindAGrave soon. Hopefully it will be of use to you or other Lee genealogists.

Hi Bobby,
Some time ago I transfered Lula Flora Agee Lee, 79100063 to you. In updating my family tree, I find that I need to make some changes and add some history in her bio. If you would please transfer her memorial back to me, I will make the corrections and return her memorial back to you.

I am doing quite well and you and your family are doing well, too.

I saw a flower that you left for Henry Hollingsworth at the Henry Hollingsworth Family Burial Grounds in Calhoun County, AL. The note you left says that Henry is the brother to John T Hollingsworth. I am a descendent of John T's and I have not been able to find any information regarding his parents or siblings.
