Florence Betz Welthy Edit
Thank you, so much for bringing to my attention the correction and additional information concerning the Find A Grave Memorial for Florence Betz Welthy. Your comment has spurned me on to do additional searching and corrections to my Ancestry tree. I have linked Florence to her parents for whom you have posted Find A Grave Memorials. Your work with the Riga Cemetery records will be so beneficial to so many of us with family members interred there. Good luck with your efforts! Donna Burkert Grothaus

There are 2 other Wittlingers buried next to her. I took a photo of those too.
Don't have the first names in front of me now.

James Harris
Dear "S",

I will add
"He is buried in the lot with his half-sister, Eliza Jane (Judson) Bettis, and her family."

According to Betsey Kellogg, James (Harris)and his half-sister Jane, were raised in the (Harvey and Betsey)Kellogg household (Lucas County). She reported that Mr. and Mrs. Patton came to her house asking them to take the children as Mrs. Patton was dying. Soon thereafter she did die and the Kelloggs then raised the children.
At that time James was 6 and Jane was 11. I don't know Jane's maiden name, but from your note it appears to be "Judson." I have that James was living with a niece and nephew in Riga in 1910. Can you give me your sources on how you know that Eliza Jane (Judson) Bettis was his half-sister.

Shannon, Just to let you know, I did 3 memorials today for people buried in Riga Cemetery that were not in Find A Grave. They are Valentin, Gertrud, and Vince Matuscak. They are in the new section.
Thanks, Pete

RE: Doerflers in Riga Cemetery
Hello Shannon,

My Sister in Law is a Doerfler. She is the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle Doerfler. I am not a blood relative but would be happy to manage the memorials until someone comes along that is. You may transfer them to me if you like. Do I need to make a formal request for transfer?

Thank you for all you are doing to support this site.

RE: Lucy Goetz
Thank you for adding and linking Lucy and Herbert. Feel free to transfer their pages to me, if you would like. My mother confirmed that the graves for Lucy and Herbert were not marked but at least we now have their death certificates and know the cemetery where they rest.

RE: Lucy Goetz
Fred and Ruth were my grandparents. My dad changed the spelling of our name to Getz. The information of birth and death of Lucy and Herbert is from family records written by Ruth Goetz.

Fred and Ruth Goetz are buried in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Macon, Georgia. Fred's Find-A-Grave Memorial number is 89329010. Ruth's memorial number is 89329944.

RE: The Greiners in Riga Cemetery
Hi there

I think Gladys is there but now I cant find the info I had. I also thought I sent for her obituary but that is not filed either. (Always happens :)

I do have a death record that states she is widowed but of course that might not be true either

I'll get back with you on this...I hope

Great job you are doing!!

The Greiners in Riga Cemetery
Hi there

I got your edit for them and wondered if you happen to know if his other wife is buried there in that cemetery? I'm almost sure she is but I've been hesitant to make the memorial for her

Any Ideas?

Hi Shannon,

Good morning. Harriet now belongs to you. So happy that you asked for her transfer. If you ever find that I have others, don't hesitate to ask for them.

God Bless,
