RE: Beatrice Jay
Thanks so much and good luck finding your dad. I am related to the Jay, Gross and Carteret families in your area. If I see any of my relatives under your name I will let you know. I am just beginning my search on the Jay side. My mom is just about the only one still alive on that side of the family in that area that I know of. Thanks again!

I do not know if the above stated person is your relative or not. She would be my G-Grand-Mother. I have left a photo of her on your find a grave post. If she is not related or if any of the Jay's you list are not related to you I will be glad to take their post if you would like. If not, that is fine too. Thank you for all you do and for the information.

David Davidson grave?
After I read your message I couldn't resist doing a bit of searching. I found one David Davidson buried NEAR Bay Minette, in Baldwin County AL, in a cemetery called Memory Gardens of Fairview. He lived from 1961-1999.

He sounds a bit young to have teenaged grandchildren ... so maybe not a good lead. Anyway, I got it off a site called

Thanks for doing so much for others! Feel free to post any details about your dad, and I'm sure others can help search.

It's ok There is a lot I still don't know how to do on here. I haven't been able to add many of my family. I traced 1 part of my family tree to 1761 and I need to add a lot more and learn more about the sites. Thank you

RE: New Bethel Cemetry
That's great, but there's still duplicate entries in two different cemeteries on the site that need to be dealt with. The easiest thing is for the contributors who created the entries to get together to figure out what to do to resolve the problem; whether it's one cemetery or two cemeteries, and what to do with the duplicate entries once the problem is solved.

If it's supposed to be only one cemetery, the two need to be merged by submitting a request on the Cemetery Fix thread on the Forums here:

then the dupe entries have to be deleted or merged by sending in requests to the Edit email address.

If it's supposed to be two different cemeteries on the site, the contributor who has them in the wrong cemetery needs to delete their entries or request them to be merged by sending in requests to the Edit email address.

I hope the other contributor(s) will work with you to resolve this and clean up the mess.

thanks, Karyn

Nora Slatton
Thank you for offering to remove that info but please leave it. That info is correct for "Nora Slatton" which is a niece of "Norah Slatton". I want to copy and paste it for the correct "Nora". Info is very helpful! Thank you for it!

J E Shockley is a mystery to us, we had thought he was buried with Lucy, she died so young, it is possible he remarried, I have not been able to find him on any census, or otherwise, thus far even though there were other Shockley families in this area... Appreciate, Mike White

Thank you so much, You have actually given me more info on my Grandmother and Aunt that I didn't know. I didn't know there was a family plot, nor did I know my Aunt was also buried there.

Again thank you very much.

RE: Andrew Flowers
The other Flowers are possibly his relatives, if you go again to Arkwright would you photograph the Flowers stones. His siblings that died in Spartanburg County are, Lindy (Linda) Higgins, Archelus R Flowers, wife, Addie (Herron) Flowers & daughter Rosa Flowers-Painter. Any Flowers names would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again for your kindness.

Such blessings
Hey lady!

I was just going through trying to do a little organization and cleanup. There's always something to do, isn't there?

Anyway, I began to notice how many photographs you've placed... for me and for others.

Words can just not express my thanks... nor can tears... but you have them both, believe me.

Thank you. Thank you.
sooooooo very much.

RE: Kanipe
You wrote concerning my photo requests for Lich&Liney Kanipe:

The Lady at the Office in Rosemont Cemetery said that R.J.Kanipe bought a plot in 1848 in section P ,which on the 3RD entrance is next to the wall.I looked for a sign there or something but was none. She showed on one buried there.

Thank you so very much for checking this for me!!! I do
so appreciate it... very much! It might feel, to some, like
a waste to go out there and not take a photo... but it still
means so much to the family.

Both of the Kanipe's death certificates state they were
buried there: one on May 25th, 1941 and one on March
1st, 1943... both through the Edgar Funeral Home of
Union, SC.

So, no photo... no known burial by Rosemont... I guess
my next step is to double check with the funeral home.
Meanwhile, I'll note it one their memorials.

Again, thank you so very much!
