RE: Austin cemetery
Although I am a direct descendent of the Austin's from Lowville, NY., I have never been in that area. I have been in contact with a Marilyn and Robert Austin who lived in the area and travel there quite frequently. I'm sure they could help with directions. Their email address is Please advise them of our correspondence.

Best regards,

Jim Hamilton

RE: East Martinsburg Cemetery
The Lewis county Courthouse is on 12 on the street you come into in Lowville;you will pass the Lewis County Historical Society on our right first when you come into town, it looks like an old masons building.

For times, check on line for both locations.

RE: East Martinsburg Cemetery
I think I remember where they are when you walk through the old gate, go straight to the back. I think they are behind to the right of the boulder with some marks family on it.

there was a newer stone and an older stone.

RE: East Martinsburg Cemetery
Go up route 28 north towards Lowville. When you see Marks farms turn onto the property; the cemetery is well taken care of and it looks like the monuments were cleaned a little recently. Actually I was there yesterday and took a number of photos. The cemetery is surrounded on three sides by large cow buildings, but I didn't mind the aroma.

Is there someone you are looking for?

I had taken a good number a few years ago. Went back to take some I didn't remember taking before.

Captain George Denison
Hello, you manage a memorial for Captain George Denison and I am confused. There are two different memorials for the same person in different cemeteries with different pictures of headstones, but they are clearly for the same person. Do you know which one of these is THE correct memorial? The Find A Grave #s are 125445067 and 11435695.
Thank you - I am direct descendant.

THANK YOU. :-) I promise, I will take good care of Maggie. <3 Enjoy the book, and if you ever want to purchase one, Barnes & Noble sells them for $19.99, or you can buy one at for even less, and I'm sure my friend Kelly would be more than happy to sign a copy for you. ;-)

Have a happy weekend!

Hi Again, Joanna, :-)

Here we go not being able to respond to your message privately. :-( Oh well.............LOL! Yes, Murder At Rocky Point is an extremely good read, and I highly recommend it. It is written by Kelly Sullivan Pezza, and it is available at the local libraries. That is how I first read it, but then I ended up also buying a copy. I don't want to ruin the story for you, since you plan to read the book, but all I will tell you is that it is VERY sad, and although times were different then, it seemed like nobody truly mourned Maggie's murder.

Yes, if you can please transfer her memorial to me, that would be great, and I certainly will add more info. to her biography; beginning with her correct birth and death dates. Anything else, I know Kelly can help me with.

Thank you so much again!

Hi, Joanna,

My apologies for not responding to your message from the other day. At first, I wasn't sure how to respond to you, since when I got your message in my regular e-mail, there was a "do not reply" return e-mail address, and then when I logged on to here, I couldn't find your message. LOL! Anyway, all sponsorship of a memorial is, is that you pay a one-time $5.00 fee to have the advertisements removed from the memorial. That is what my understanding of sponsorship was and is. Hope this helps. :-) Also, no I did not know Maggie personally. She died over 100 years ago, and I just turned 50 years old on May 11th. LOL! My friend, Kelly Sullivan Pezza wrote a book about Maggie's murder at Rocky Point Park, and of course, I read it, and my heart just broke for little Maggie. She was only 5 years old when she was killed by her own father! Should you be interested in reading the book, I can direct you where to get a copy, as well as the full title of it. (it escapes me at present, but it's much longer than just "Murder at Rocky Point) :-) Finally, I don't know how you could transfer Maggie's page to me, but if you would like to do that, then yes of course, I would be more than honored to care for her memorial on here. Thank you again, Joanna!

Hi Joanna. Thanks for adding so many names to Elm Grove. The memorials for Anita and her son Albert (126300594) carry a note, "on back of family stone". The question is, which family stone? I'm guessing Albert W. Reynolds (113154002), but I'd like to confirm. Also, could you please provide the plot for Albert and his wife Cornelia? I really appreciate all you help.

RE: Elm Grove edits
They are distant cousins in the Stanton family line. Sorry for the confusion, but I'm working with at least 5 different family lines. The Stanton family line is my father's family. If you want to transfer that is fine but not necessary I'm sure you would take good care of them.

Which Elm Grove Cemetery? I'm not sure if I have any memorials in that cemetery. I'm working on more then one family tree.

No thank you. I am a very distant cousin of her's and am currently researching her branch of the family, but see no need for a transfer.

No need to transfer the memorial. I am not related.
I added memorials for his parents in the Morgan Billings cemetery in Ledyard and wanted to provide links to their children.
