Bio

I have been interested in genealogy and family history for decades. Both of my parent's families have lived in Mississippi since just before the Civil War. Their family names include Barnett, Marshall, Neal, Long, Sims, and Stewart. From 1850 until about 1950, most of these families lived in east central Mississippi, primarily in Neshoba, Kemper, and/or Lauderdale Counties. I am fascinated with the fact that for each of my 16 sets of ggg-grandparents, there are thousands of descendants scattered throughout America, each one a cousin to some small degree. Even though I will never meet the vast majority of them, I enjoy discovering their names through the technology provided by worldwide internet.
