I was so glad to see you posted Sherry. I went into find a grave to post her as I just found out she passed away. I spoke with her about a year ago via email message. She was my neighbor in Clear Lake for years. I'm always glad to see young people volunteering. We need young volunteers. I've been doing this for over 14 years and am a DAR and Bay Area Genealogy, Museum Guild Member. Research is an important part of my life following my family and faith. Nice to meet you and if you ever need help just give me a shout out.

Your very welcome. He is my GGG-Grandfather on my mother's side. Sorry it wasn't a headstone. I always forget to hit the selection button on the add a photo button. I also submitted a bio from county archives in the suggestion box that your husband may find interesting.

Kim,
I can send you a PDF file containing more Harbuck information, if you want it. I also have a photo of Henry Thomas Harbuck, Samuel's father.

RE: Harbuck
Kelcie Kemite Harbuck was a brother to my step-father, whose father was Albert Lee Harbuck, a brother of Samuel. I do not have a photo of Lillie Bell, although it is probable that one of her daughters, Barbara Sue is still alive.
The Harbuck family has a reunion every year in Nelson, Choctaw County Oklahoma. The last one I attended was in 2011. I don't know how close you live to that area. Lee

Atward Jefferson Harbuck was my step-father.
I have 1 brother and 4 sisters that he and my mother were the parents of.

I do not believe she is buried there (or in a marked grave at least). June Tuck's survey of the cemetery in the 1970s does not have her listed and I tried my best to photograph all grave markers in the cemetery when I was there. If I can do anything else please let me know.

Her burial in mid July and her families 9/3 request maybe close. In as time for the headstone to be set for a photo. I have about a dozen request so I will make her the last one giving time for the stone to be place and grass to grow about it. Guy Abbott

RE: Smith in Graves Cemetery
Kim, I show Robert Gideon Smith dying 22 July 1956 in Ellis County, TX. In 1930 he was living with a wife Mary Ann in Harrison County, TX per the census. Was Mary's maiden name Eastman? I have not looked for the children of Christina Fry Smith as that is not my line. But I did write down all the names of the kids of David Joseph Smith as he married my relative, Phoebe Henson, and had Alfred Granderson Smith. Yes, Smith is a hard name to track as it is very common. I will look for Robert Granderson's burial though and if I find it, will let you know. Happy hunting, Robert. If y

RE: Smith in Graves Cemetery
Hi Kim,
Yes, I am related to probably most or all of the Smiths in Graves cemetery. I come down through the Henson line - Joseph Henson and Mary B. Polly Thomas - whose daughter Phoebe Ann Henson married Rev. David J. Smith 1846-1922. They had Alfred Granderson Smith. Phoebe Ann Henson was a widow when she married David J. Smith. She first married Simpson Jones Lauderdale and had 3 kids, but he died and she married Smith. SOmeof the Smiths in that cemetery I have not connected to my family yet, but I believe most are related to David Joseph SMith and perhaps his other wife Christine Elizabeth Fry who he married after Phoebe Ann died in abt 1861 although I have never found her burial. Some say she might have died in Leon Co., TX, but her family all lived in Jacksboro, Jack, TX area so she is probably there some place.

Census records show her name as Mary N. Owings and him as Willis D. Thornley born in MS. The 1920 census shows them with these children: Effie L., Claude M., James L., Bonnie and Lera. Willis was 49 and Mary was 47. The 1940 census show Claude as head of family with wife Mertie and daughters Lavelle and Helen. Hope this helps. jim
