Ella Melvin Paine
Hi! I'm researching Ella Fuller Melvin Paine's adopted parents, Alexander G. Melvin and Emeline Foster. Would love to know if you're interested in comparing notes on them! I've been unable to locate a grave for him (he died in 1876 Rochester, NY), but there is an Emeline Melvin listed here. Not sure if it's the right Emeline however.

Please feel free to contact me at

Vient Memorial Plaque
In 2014 I and my husband were visiting the Cemetery in Beaumont from Washington State and there wasn't a plaque that we saw with all of the Vient names that are buried there. These are my ancesters, and I got so excited when I saw there was a plaque there now. Was this placed there by a Vient dit Vien dit Cummings family member? If so I would so like to get in touch with them or who ever placed the plaque. Nothing was open when we visited, but we walked the Cemetery.

My husband and I think we will be coming aqain to Quebec in 2017 and if there are relatives we surely would like to meet them!

James Robert Kimbrough
My mother just reminded tonight that I was named after James Robert Kimbrough. My dad went to school at George Washington High School, which I think is in Gardena. If I remember correctly the James Kimbrough my dad knew went to George Washington High School also.
James had been my dad's best friend as a kid so when I was born in 1961 he named me James Robert in memory and honor of James Robert. My dad went into the Air Force, then college, and seminary.
He wanted to be a chaplain in the air force, but by the time he had his education so he could qualify he was too old.
If your James Robert is James Robert that was my dad's friend I know I would enjoy hearing from a namesake. My dad died in 1990

Hornburgs buried in Sandy Cemetery, Sandy, Texas
Hello - The Hornburgs that you listed as buried in the Sandy, Texas cemetery are my husband's ancestors and relatives. Can you please tell me where you got the information on the Hornburgs buried there? We have conflicting info on one of the four that you listed. Family members hope to put a marker at the cemetery. So, we want to make sure that the marker is correct. Hoping to hear from you. Thank you, Janel Howell

Bill Cole
Cpl. James Kimbrough
I knew Jim. He was in my platoon in Korea. He was killed while on a night combat patrol into enemy (Chinese) territory. He was the only member of the patrol who was killed that night. I had just arrived in Korea a few weeks earlier and so knew Jim only for a short time. He was a wonderful friendly guy always with a big smile on his face. A terrible tragedy. I'm 84 now and still remember Jim like it was yesterday. Bill Cole

Midwest Yogini
Thank you

Thank you very much for all the information and photos you have posted of the Kimbrough family. My great-grandmother was Mary Adeline (Addie) Kimbrough from Monroe Co., TN. It's wonderful to find out more about many relatives/ancestors that I didn't even know existed.

Having the (genealogy) family tree information is the "cake", if you will. The stories, biographies and pictures are the "icing" and a heck of an icing it is!

Blessings to you and yours,
Blair (Cooke) Davey

Transfers made
I made a couple more transfers to you. By the way, I noticed that many of your family were from Ventura County. I use to work with a husband and wife named James (Jim) and Linda Kimbrough at the Navy base at Point Mugu, CA. Just wondered if you were related to them. VV
