RE: Albert B and R Leona Hoffman
Yes, it does make a good hobby but I find that most of the cemeteries around me are already on Find a grave. I have also looked were the cabin is and where our summer house is too. But so many good people have already added the cemeteries. Find a grave is great for finding family for genealogy. It is how I started looking at Find a grave. Thank u again for all your time and effort. Have a Happy Holidays!

Albert B and R Leona Hoffman
Leona and Albert are my Aunt and Uncle. I would like to know if you would transfer their care to me. I would like to connect them to my Grandparents memorial which I manage.

Thank you,

Cornelius J Traas
Hello Cornelius J Traas was my Great Grandfather and I noticed that it said "uncle" on his headstone is there any information on who was his niece or nephew? Any Anthony Traas in the same cemetery or any known relatives?

Thank you so much

PS Will finally be making a trip with my family to the area end of July! :)

RE: Peterson...Petersen
Actually, I believe someone else just uploaded the headstone to Find A Grave. Thank you for checking. Apparently, they are all under one headstone and it is loaded now. Laura, Lena, and Carl were three of their four children (at the time). Their oldest son died in Nebraska while they were homesteading. Laura, Lena, and Carl died in a diptheria epidemic in 1896 after they moved back home to Michigan from Nebraska. Only one child survived, my great grandmother Anna. Another child was born at the end of the same month, September 1896. Two more born later. Very sad story.

RE: Zimmerman's-Lake Forest, GH
Sorry, as stated in Find A Grave rules, transfers need to be direct lineage up to four generations (siblings, parents, grandparents, great grandparents). I put in way too much work here to have my memorials scooped up by all their friends and neighbors. Have a great day!

After doing some research I have come to the conclusion that a headstone that you listed are the children of James Apollos and Kate D Thompson Griswold. This headstone lists: Florence, Charles Clifford, Viola, Mattie Belle? and a fifth name. On the 1910 Census is states she is the mother of 10 with five living. On the I found Florence born 2 Oct 1887 died before 1900 (census). Charles Clifford 24 Oct 1902 to 12 Jan 1903. Viola 22 Apr 1892 to 5 Oct 1893. The other two I am not 100% positive. Can do more research. do you know the fifth name? Can't read it on the picture posted. Thanks

Gerrit Van Oordt
I found the link (which means we are distanly related). Gerrit was a brother of Henry Van Oordt. There is also a brother Cornelius Van Oordt that lived in Coopersville and died in 1950. I'm working on putting that family together and then I'll move to Gerrit's.

All of them are children of Heinrich van Ordt Sprok and Geertje van der Ploeg. Geertje allegedly died here in America. Geertje was (1 of 2) illegitimate daughters of Eeke Geerts van der Ploeg. Eeke's parents were Geert Kornelis van der Ploeg and Geertje Tomas Kraai who was a sister of my 5x great grandfather Enne Tomas Kraai.

From the looks of it I'm going to be working on this line for awhile!

RE: John Van Oordt
Thank you! Send me the dates you have for your grandpa and great grandpa and I'll see if I can find the link for you.

RE: John Van Oordt
I sent you a response to this in one of my other corrections. I think I've put all of this family together but I believe I'm missing a daughter of John and Della. Their son George's obituary lists a 5 surviving sisters:

Mrs. William Baker (Helen)
Mrs. Arthur Rummler (Lois)
Mrs. Donald Groenevelt (I'm missing)
Mrs. Arthur Belter (Dorothy)
Mrs. Herman Swiftney (Mildred)

From Lois Rummler's obituary she was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 5 sisters which also makes 9 kids - from the 1910 and 1930 census I only have 8 you know who the missing daughter is?
