RE: Thanks!
You are so very welcome! I have been a bit under the weather so I haven't had the chance to fulfill other requests but I really appreciate the kind words! I hope to be back to good health and start helping again!

You're welcome! I was at the cemetery again today -- lots of McDowells there.

RE: Providence Cemetery, Madison Co., TN
Yes, I'd say the chances are very good that the marker has probably disintegrated. If not completely, then probably bad enough that you can't read it.

RE: Memorial Transfer
I know I didn't have to transfer him, but he's family to you and I'm but a stranger that happened upon where he was buried. He belongs with someone that can give his memorial more information than I can ever give it.

Re maple hill requests
No problem. I hope to get to many more Maple Hill requests as soon as I can. The local librarian says there is over 8,000 burials there, so a lot of luck was involved. LS

Hi Timothy,
Thank-you so much for taking the time out of your day to get the graveside photo for Frances Emaline (Rainbolt) West... That photo request had been active for 4 years, so obviously thinking I would never see it !!!! You can't imagine how much those photos mean to me...
Again, my deepest gratitude for your hard work,

Rushing Memorials
Hi Timothy,
I claimed your photo requests in Highland Cemetery, Durant, Oklahoma, for Wiley and Addie Rushing, and for Preston and Lucinda Rushing. I have posted those photos to their memorials and I hope you are pleased with them.

I also took photos of the gravestones for L.P. 'Jack' Rushing, Lillie and Jesse Rushing, Pearly Joe and Eva Lena Rushing, and Eli Rushing and Bertha Leipes. If you are interested in any of these, please post your photo requests. Thanks.

Should her name be Margaret Ellen Shahan or Ellen Margaret. Some of the census list her as Ellen M.

Hi Tim,

I just got back in town so I am late responding to your request. I am happy to transfer the memorial for your Dad to you. Let me know if it came through. I do not have control of the memorial for your grandfather, Garland. A lady named Lena has that memorial and you will have to contact her regarding a transfer.

I got Matilda's middle name from her death certificate. I will e-mail the death certificate to you.

I hope all is well with you and have a great day!

Thanks Tim for your very informative answer. That clears up a lot for me. You the kind of historian/genealogist/hobby hound one likes to meet along the trail.

Happy Hunting!

Cpt John McDowell
Hi Timothy,

Thanks for documenting this historical figure with a wonderful picture of his original gravestone. I wonder if you could put the transcription under your picture? It is still a bit hard to read at the bottom. It looks as though he died in Dec 1743, while the historical sign states 1742. Also, was his name spelled differently? By the spacing and number of letters it looks like MackDowell or MacDowell, rather than McDowell. One last thing, there is a place on the memorial page for the gravestone transcription. Could you send a request to the manager of this page to add this?

It is a shame that there is no maintenance of this very historical cemetery.

Thanks a bunch,

Hey Timothy, I see where you have 2 photos, one is a church and the other a house I believe under Samuel and I don't think they have any relation to him that I can see. If they do, you might want to put a notation on the picture itself so folks know what the connection is. Each person has a 5 picture limit. Thx, stay cool!
