Del Gran
Darlene (Gran) Pearson
Darlene,
Thank you for the transfer of #114242954. Darlene's memorial has now been linked to her Gran siblings and ancestors all the way back to Norway. Based on her obituary, it makes all the Gran's proud that she shared her life with so many in the Mount Vernon, WA community.

Find A Grave works because of the multiple facets of volunteer contributions. Without a cemetery assigned, a memorial is hard to find but your work made it possible. Will send you an email with some questions but thank you for sharing.

Thank you Peggy, so much.

I want to add a few things to her obituary, that weren't in it, but will put something up soon for her. She was a wonderful Lady.

Maggie E Matheny
Hi Peggy, I am really new to geneology and was searching for information about my Grandmother Alice. She was raised by Maggie and Vine Matheny. Alice was born a Guyette and was given up for adoption at approx age 2. She was adopted by a family surname Olk. The adoptive mother passed away when she was 5 and was then given to Mr Olk's niece Maggie to raise. Are you by chance related to Maggie? I saw a picture of a Maggie and Vine Matheny and I really hope it's the same one. Maggie lived with my grandmother Alice and her husband Joe until her death in Portland.

Mary Dutcher
Mary Jane Hay Bacon
Hi Peggy,
I was uploading pictures I had taken in Olin Cemetery and noticed a duplicate entry for Mary Jane Hay Bacon. The memorial you created, Find A Grave Memorial #96010534, in an unknown cemetery corresponds to Memorial #6015237; not as much information filled in, but it was created earlier. The manager of the earlier one is inactive, so you may want to e-mail edit@findagrave.com and have them merge the two entries. Just a heads up :)

Regards,
Mary

Hello,
This memorial is my mother. She had only passed away the day before you created this memorial, so when I felt able to create one a month later I didn't notice that you had made one already. My mother's memorial is one of the few memorials I cared about creating. I have emailed you also but would be grateful if you delete your memorial so I may complete mine. I would gladly turn over all of my created memorials to you, excluding my immediate family (father, grandparents) in exchange for this favor that would mean so much to me.
Thank you,
Susan Allen McQuillen

Dear Peggy, I was so happy you created Record
Find A Grave Memorial# 134649786 on Aug 21, 2014.
Phyllis was the Mother of my very best friend.
I would like to know if you can add a Memorial for her husband and connect them in Find A Grave?! Phyllis married Richard Frederick Wiles 10 Apr 1945. Richard was born 7 Sep 1923 in Burlington, Skagit, WA. He passed away 5 Dec 2003 in Burlington, WA.
*His urn of ashes were buried with Phyllis August 22, 2014. Lemley Chapel registered his burial* Eventually there will be a headstone or bench for Richard by his loving Phyllis.

You can email me at aledajeannereid@hotmail.com

Thank-you again Peggy for the Memorial. I can also provide pictures. Look forward to hearing from you.

RE: Edward C. & Lulu E. Viereck
Dear Peggy,

Thank you for the information. I won't enter any Navy "tokens" for him. I am not related to either him or Edith; I became a part of Find A Grave nearly four yrs. ago after I found my mother's memorial, which really confused me, at first, then the memorials of my grandparents on this site. At the time, they were under the care of a person who is really involved with Find a Grave in Oregon, David Bollman. He helped me out at least once a day for at least a few months when I 1st was in Find A Grave as he had most of my relatives in Linn, Polk and Multnomah Cos. here in Oregon. He explained everything and was so very patient with me, I've felt like I'd like to "pay it forward" as it were. Whenever I now find a death certificate that Diane Greb has posted (she did this for so many of the people who were buried in Linn County!), and their memorials haven't been updated yet, I take about half an hr. to an hour to read the death certs. and learn the dates and places of birth and death, along with their parents, spouses, etc., so they can be linked, especially if they are a Pioneer family, a youngster, etc. I feel it's the least I can do to kind of help out, as long as the person who has the memorial doesn't mind. I didn't realize that you had the Vierecks memorials until after I double checked; I had just seen Dave Bollman's name and gone ahead & done what I do, as I also like doing it. I've done it for other people and haven't had any complaints (yet). I enjoy doing research, especially when the clues are right there or I know different places to look. So I hope you don't mind that I did all of that and sent you that email (sorry I called you David at first, and hope you got the 2nd email). It's just my way of helping out as others have helped me in the past 3 yrs., 9 months and 30 days.

Dr. Edward Viereck
Dear Peggy,
My error! I just noticed that you now care for Dr. Viereck's memorial. I hope you didn't take offense at my mistake. I am rather curious about the photo and I hope you don't mind my doing the research on these memorials, for the brother and sisters are interred here in Oregon where they came in about 1886. Hoping to hear from you.
With all Sincerity,

Dear Peggy,
I am working on completing the memorial for Dr. Edward Clarence Viereck, memorial#28880515. On both his and his wife's memorials (Lulu Edith, who remarried) you posted a photo of them wearing sailors blue dress uniforms. Was he ever in the military or were these costumes for all Hallow's Eve? I'd appreciate it if you could please note below the photos on each memorial the names of the people and why they are dressed as sailors since, if he was a veteran, I'd like to note that in his memorial. Thank you so very much for the work you've done on Find A Grave. Are you related? Would love to know where you got that photo. Take Care.
With All Sincerity, Kathie L. Webb Blair, Portland, OR
(I know it is David Bollman's memorial but I "pay it forward" as he has helped me with my Burkhart relatives buried at Riverside more times than you can count and my mom who's interred in Portland.)

The listing is an impressive array of accomplishments. I expect things will calm once the celebration of her life is held which is now scheduled. Thanks so much for your kindness. We will just tip toe. And say a prayer for a beautiful spirit.

I would say for now it would give some peace to Dad .if it were not there. Or at least cut out the obit information and let it just be about her. Leave the living out of it might even work.. Find A Grave has guidelines asking that Obits not be put online. It is a wrestle.

Thanks for your response. Regards
