Chaddock Cemetery Marker
Just checked my records the Leverett R. Chaddock that you photographed is for the grandfather of the Leverett Richmond Chaddock, the one that I requested a photograph for. You have attached the photo to the wrong Leverett R. Chaddock - 2ulips

It looks like the snow is off the ground. I grew up at Round Lake, near Laingsburg.

Is that her maiden or married name? I may be going to Garland within the next week. Records do not have anyone with that last name. If she could be under another that would help tremendously.

Timothy Baldwin
Did you read the memorial? There is no longer a headstone.

Inscription:
The headstone is missing. I requested a photograph and the person that walked the cemetery stated that there is no stone. I did find some information from the 1930s where the U.S. Federal government's WPA program catalogued the cemeteries in Connecticut, the "Hale Cemetery Inscriptions." Timothy Baldwin's headstone was there on October 26, 1934. The comments stated that the stone was "down" and "difficult to read" and was in "very bad condition." The stone read: "Timothy Baldwin, died Nov. 22, 1772, aged 63 years. Also, he is buried in the "Old Baldwin Cemetery," which the WPA team distinguished from the "Baldwin Cemetery."

Good Morning David,

Thank you for your time and picture of Theron North's stone. I have several more of the North family in the cemetery that I need to add obits to. May call on you again for photos. I cannot get to many of these cemeteries to take the pictures myself. I am so thankful to the members that can.

Have a great day and again Thanks,
Connie West Stewart

RE: Lucy J. Rogers
Thanks for the tombstone info. I was hoping that in front of Betsey Stewart's name was perhaps the father's initials. Where was this photo taken in relationship to other Rogers and/or Stewarts in the cemetery? I was hoping to link her to the other two Rogers listed or perhaps a Stewart I had in my database for these two surnames. Unfortunately I don't have any Rogers male married to a Lucy nor do I have any Stewarts married to a Rogers. Ugh! Therefore, I can't help with who Lucy might be or any date info. However, as you read the 1883 date, so did I, so subtracting her age gives her approximate year of birth.

what has me curious is the fact that it just says Lucy J. and daughter of Betsey Stewart, but nowhere is the surname of Rogers on the part shown. Was there a base marker to show the Rogers surname? Or was Rogers on the back side of the marker? Cause right now I would be figuring she was really Lucy J. Stewart and not Lucy J. Rogers without further identifying features of the marker.

Perhaps you should also post the closeups along with the full marker plus anything that indicates her surname was Rogers. I do that all the time when a tombstone marker isn't very forthcoming with clear info. That will help another Rogers/Stewart researcher.

Thanks for the photo of her grave. Would it be possible, since it appears you just took the photo, for you to transcribe it as it is hard to read? Please post the info to the photo and also send a message to the original contributor so that they can edit the memorial. I'm not the original contributor so I can't do it. Thanks in advance.
