RE: Sampson Mason
Old resident's say that there were over 100 stones at one time. I have no idea if they were recorded.

No...no stones remain. Nothing. There is no way to tell there are graves there! We, also, would like to know how such a travesty took place and went unnoticed. The town board is now in contact with its attorney. Your offer to provide support for our efforts is greatly appreciated. I will let you know what transpires and if we think a letter from you would help. Because of the nature of this discussion, future communication should be by email. I can be reached at nancymoore9784@gmail.com

RE: Sampson Mason
Hi Debra,

The Blossom Farm Cemetery, where our ancestor Sampson Mason is buried, is extinct and no headstones remain. In fact, the desecration of this cemetery went unnoticed and unpunished and the cemetery is now part of a barnyard/pasture.

My brother and I recently (6/8/2013) petitioned the Fort Ann Town Board to reclaim the cemetery, fence it in and erect signage to commemorate the cemetery and honor those interred there. I'm sure you can imagine what a challenge this is!

Best,
Nancy

Hi Debra...
I saw that you still had your request for this photo from 2012, and I was already at that particular cemetery, so I wanted to give it a try...however, just like the volunteer before me, I had no luck due to the age and condition of the stones. I did walk the entire property, but maybe half of them are illegible or damaged. Most people buried here died in the 1800's. This cemetery is not too far from us and we do enjoy the research...so we are considering getting permission to do some rubbings or finding out who the caretaker is...maybe there's a book with the location of the grave. If I get any new information, I will contact you again.

Mount Saint Peter requests
this is a very large cemetery, with mausoleums. You need an alpha-numeric section and a plot number to be able to find someone. Kevin the manager is very nice and will give family the information.

Hi Deb... I found the Frink-Hoyt Cemetery OK, unfortunately most of the headstones and markers are either weathered so badly or damaged to the point of being unreadable. I walked the whole plot (luckily it isn't very big), but couldn't find Ira. Sorry. I'll see if I can post the pictures I took of the cemetery.

Ahh, was still working on this one. We had a slight mix up with the grounds crew and the multiple Alheims. You go ahead and delete the pictures I uploaded. Sending new ones as I went back and double checked with the office. I am learning... Your Uncle gave me quite a time! Even the shadows were trying to hide him from me as you will see in the pictures. Shy or stubborn, not sure which. :) Uploading new pictures tonight.

Yes, I see that there is no memorial for him. That is necessary so that the photo can be posted. Could you set one up?
