Arkansas Cemeteries
Abby Burnett is the person to see about northwest Arkansas cemeteries. She's written a book on Ozark funeral customs that is for sale on Amazon. There is a documentary and several interviews with her on Youtube, if you are interested. She used to be here on Findagrave, but she was swamped with too many requests. Just for your information. And thanks for photographing those tiny cemeteries. There are many of those little family cemeteries scattered abt.

Hello Ruth.....
Good to hear from you and that you are still working on Findagrave. I imagine your fall harvest is about complete and I hope the crops were good this year.

As for me, I still haven't gotten back to Monona County and it is six years now! My sisters are upset that I have not been back.. Marlene still lives in Onawa..

I have taken thousands of pictures this summer. It gives me something to do. Have run into some haunted cemeteries. Note my picture on my bio page. You can see them for yourself!

Holdiay season is approaching which means cold and snow. That will end my cemetery jaunts until next spring. Wishing you the best and hope to meet you sometime when I get back to the Onawa area.

Larry :-)

RE: Laura Bothwell 1896-1993
Laura's maiden name: Squire.

She married Clyde Nuzum.

She was not married to a Bothwell.

William Bothwell was my uncle, married to Lovetta Nuzum.

RE: Obit. Earl Vay Plummer

I have a pdf report of the Plummer family tree I have, but will need an e-mail address to send it to you. I'm sure you won't want to print it all - it's over 42 pages, but I'm sure there are some parts that you will want to delete. If you prefer you can contact me at

RE: Obit. Earl Vay Plummer
Earl's grandmother was a cousin of my great grandmother, Rebecca Elizabeth Stephens Donelson. Let me know if you would like more information on the Stephens and Plummer families.

RE: Memorial #59683133
I can't delete it since I am no longer the manager. I would think you could delete it since you are the current manager. Once a person gives up management rights, they lose all control. (Kind of like the weather and farming!)

Kris P. Bacon has been deleted! Seems he was a fictional early Monona County pioneer in my imagination! :-)

Pearl F. Johnson
Orson Edward Johnson
There was no marriage of Orson and Margaret Rosetta Mann in Nauvoo, Illinois. Orson was born there and his parents were married there. In 1846 Orson and his parents and a half sister moved to Missouri.

RE: Edward Johnson, @ Preparation
Find A Grave Field Marshall's apparently merged two Preparation Cemeteries together! This resulted in many duplicates. I was contacted awhile back and I deleted all my entries that were duplicates.

The best memorial should stay and helpful volunteers will understand and be receptive to their kind deletions! Not everyone see's it that way of course. (First listing rules by golly!)

RE: Orson, Edward Johnson
I left a message that it is a duplicate. Because she is deceased, am not sure how they handle it. Hopefully someone has taken over for her.

Almost time to harvest the gold in the fields! Hope you are fine and doing swell.

RE: Mt. Hope Cemetery/Mapleton
Hi Ruth:

Hope you are feeling better and getting lots done in Monona County. Record setting rainfall here in Minnesota, so crops are not doing very well.

Haven't done much this past year with Find A Grave. Going on 5 years since back to God's little paradise called Monona County! Perhaps later this summer I will make it.

God bless! I changed from Larry to Doug A. Grave for my handle.

Mt. Hope Cemetery/Mapleton
Hi Ruth: Kris P. Bacon is buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Please check out his memorial as friends have left memorial flowers. (I think the winter has finally gotten to me!)

RE: Preparation Canyon Cemetery
Is there a person buried in this cemetery named Kris P. Bacon? (The women thought he was a pig. The men thought he was quite a bore!)

Hope spring arrived. Still wintery up here in Minnesotah!

Preparation Canyon Cemetery
I just was notified that I had entered many duplicates of the above cemetery. Mine were entered in 2010 and they duplicated entries from 2004! Very strange as pictures had been added to my entries and others had added links, etc.

I am wondering if Find A Grave combined two cemeteries together as a merger. If so, they have created many duplicates! I had to delete my entries, even though mine were more complete and had grave stone markers. Many that remain are incomplete and now lacking photo's taken by you and Margaret.

This is NOT GOOD! Earliest listing rules, even when less complete!

Spring is still not here in the Northland.

Wanting to say Thank You
My mom and I were looking for information on a relatives and we came across my great grandma's name. We clicked on it and was surprised to see a photo of her marker. My mom has been waiting for a marker to be placed on her grave since her death and since one had not she went and made one. She was afraid that someone was going to take it down and was surprised to see it still there. She was brought to tears since her grandma meant the world to her. Again thank you for posting the picture it means alot to all of us.

I am going to levee it as is since it matches the grave marker. Otherwise it creates confusion and people will assume I spelled it wrong. :-)
