Nellie Bates
Hi April,

Did you get the email I sent you with the obit for the one I think is your Nellie Bates?

Added by Tropico Gravers on Feb 08, 2015 9:55 AM

Nellie Bates
Hello April,

Yesterday I looked all over the plot area and was unable to locate Nellie. As I mentioned in my report, her plot area is next to a wall and is a dirt area. Maybe when it rains the water lingers there which causes the dirty pile up. I'm thinking her marker is buried. If you call Forest Lawn and confirm if she has a marker then we'll know it's in fact buried or not. I would be happy to go back and photo it if they raise it.

I did find Clyde Bates Find A Grave 85345238 in the plot below where Nellie plot location is. His marker is covered with dirt. Let me know is he's a relation to you and I'll go back and clean it off and photo it for you.

RE: zeta Walker
I think it's fixed! I can't see anything wrong with it now and to tell you the truth, I can't remember what the edit was I sent to you! Once it's submitted it can't be reviewed.
Merry Christmas!

RE: Way Cemetery
April, I photographed this cemetery and posted all the photos that I took when I entered them on Findagrave. I don't have any further photos. You might ask Crystal if she knows anything. I believe she lives in the area. Her member number is 46975682.

RE: Pearl McCoy Bias Uhl
I have pictures of her brother Ballard. He was my great grandfather. I also have an older picture of Rosie and Garfield, and I believe Pearl and Albert. If you could send me your email I could send you the pictures I have. :)

RE: Pearl McCoy Bise Uhl
I'm not sure if you received my message on Facebook or not, but I believe Pearl is buried in the McCoy Cemetary on Sandy Ridge in Saint Paul, VA. That's where she was born and raised. I will double check on that. Her brother Ballard was my great grandfather. He passed away in 2004.

RE: High Point Presbyterian Church Cemetery
Thank you so much!! I really do appreciate it. There are a couple of others that are in my extended family in this cemetery, If you would like to transfer them or the entire cemetery that would be fine with me. I do live pretty close and am there at least every couple of months.
Thanks for all the work you have done!!!

Walker Family
Absolutely April, same here if there's anything I can do to help you.
Also, there is a series of books called: "A New River Heritage" by William Sanders, published by McClain Printing, Co. I found both sides of my family mentioned in Vol IV. You can buy those online. I don't know how many books he wrote but I know there are at least four! He has stories about founding families along the New River and coal mining towns and locations of cemeteries. I'll look through and see if there are any Brooks in Vol IV.
Happy New Year!

RE: Walker family by glennis walker
No there are many, many names in there but are of Walker descent. Goes all the way back to 1734. I don't recall any Brooks in there, but I find somebody new everytime I go through it. When I find somebody on Find A Grave that has links to other family members I find even more relatives that aren't in the book!! I'll keep my eyes open.

RE: Walker family by glennis walker
Glennis has since passed away and I don't know where to get any more of his books. He had no children so I think the only books out there are the ones that were sold directly by him while he was alive. If you have specific names I might be able to help you out or copy some pages for you. My goal is to go through his book and create as many memorials as possible in the cemeteries he found ancestors buried in. I have gone to several of the cemeteries and taken headstone pictures but this is a 725 page book and I have been amazed at the number of memorials I have found on Find A Grave.

Added by BeVera on Jan 01, 2014 7:39 PM

OK, then we(your husband and I) must be related. Are you familiar with the Walker Family History Book written by Glennis Walker?

RE: Blue Jay Cemetery
I do not, but I believe there is a sign posted at the cemetery with the contact information of the caretaker. I will try to swing by there this week and get that info for you.

Numa Walker
Hi April,
Can you please remove the headstone picture from Numa (#29223134) memorial since that is the one of his sons' that is buried in Keaton Mills? I thought I could do it but it won't let me.

RE: Thompson Lawson Walker and Gilven Eri Walker
I don't have any Walker relatives living in Oceana, but I have ancestors buried there. I have friends here in Ohio that are from Oceana as well.
