Wonderful! Thanks so much. I didn't know George Burke, but he was my mother's favorite and she always spoke of her leprechaun gfather. I'll work on entering his wife, though she was German and apparently not as lovable! One picture only remains of them after the ravages of Katrina. (Lakeview:( )I will post it. Vicki

Oops, I never was good with numbers:) This is the memorial I asked for earlier. Haven't figured out yet how to send private message, but I'm new. GEORGE FRANCIS BURKE (1864-1940) was a leprechaun of the highest order, and my ggrandfather! Are you doing Masons or just Irishmen:)? It took me months to find him as I had no idea he was a Mason. No one did. Thank you for including Masonic #1 in your tributes. (You left him a flower. Was it just because of his heritage?) Thx, Vicki with the Burke red hair

Nolagirl, I am a NOLA girl, too! I admire what you do , as I am just learning about this website and the good it does. By coincidence, I imagine, you have very recently added two of my maternal great grandparents. They are related only by the marriage of their children, my Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw!
I have lots of details and a few pictures of Sarah Poole Mains and George Francis Burke. Please consider giving them to me, as you suggest in your profile.
Many thanks, Vicki Vandrell Roussel (Vicki46)

Memorial #121932276 "On Rivet"
Would it be possible to double-check the name entered for this memorial? Based on the birth and death dates, I believe it may be for Gordon Rivet, but need confirmation for that. Thanks!

RE: Memorial# 91971927 for Dorothy
She grew up in the Pittsburg area, in Emsworth with 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She is in 1920, 30 and 40 censuses, still unmarried in 1940. The only sibling for whom I found an obit was brother Wilbur. She is named in his obit:
Wilbur Lurting Kelly, 58, of 175 North Ave. Emsworth, died Monday, Aug. 11, 1969, in Mercy Hospital. Mr. Kelly, an employee of the Pittsburgh Branch of the United Slates Post Office, was an army veteran of World War II. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Frances B. Miller Kelly; three daughters, Dorothy L., Elizabeth I., and Margaret N. Kelly; a son, Steven C. Kelly; a brother Walter R. Kelly of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Parker of Reistertown, Md., and Mrs. M S (Dorothy) Stevens of New Orleans. He was past commander of Raymond P Cronin Post, VFW, and a member of Ohlman-Horne Post, VFW. Requiem mass was sung Thursday morning in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Emsworth. in North Side Catholic Cemetery.

Dottie would be a third cousin of mine. I did not know her. We have the same great-great-grandparents and I am tracing all the descendants.

Liz- The only alternate information I have is the Social Security death index, which is sometimes wrong. Not strong evidence on which to change it! Did they have children?

Can you please double check the birth date, which you list as 13 May 1918. Social Security death index lists it at 3 May 1918. I'm trying to determine which is correct. Thank you. She is in Metairie Cemetery, New Orlean. Plot: Metairie Mausoleum.

RE: ??
You live in a beautiful place! That works. You can also send a link of the extra cemetery entry to Find A Grave administrators and they will remove it. Just tell them it was a duplicate. Thanks, thanks.... :-)

These are not the same person, but mother and daughter. I'm not sure if both are buried in the same place.

St Roch Cemetery
My family members originated in Vilsberg, France. Three brothers came to the USA back in the 1860's. One, Nicholas LEYENDECKER/LEINDECKER, stayed in New Orleans while the other two went and stayed in Pittsburgh, PA.

I visited New Orleans last year trying to find the LEINDECKER's in St Roch Cemetery with only a little luck. I just didn't have enough time. I found the cemeteries a little confusing.

If you ever find a LEINDECKER or LEYENDECKER monument, I'd love to know about it.

While I was there I did find the Peter LEINDECKER family # 106589233 but there is much more I am to understand.

The main person I am looking for is Nicholas and his wife Margaret (GRAB/GRASS/GRAPE) LEINDECKER buried in New Orleans.

Memorial Images
Hello, my name is Douglas C. Johnson (#47683562) and I was wondering if I could have your permission to use your photographs of the graves of Jerry Anthony Garcich, Jr., Landyn Burgess Garcich, John Patrick Durin and Jerry Anthony Garcich, Sr. at Saint Patrick Cemetery #1 in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana on the FamilySearch Family Tree website. I would of course list it with full credit given to you for the use of the image.
Thank You,
