Hi Mary.
Sorry I've been out of touch for so long. My computer died a few months, and I didn't have my e-mail addresses backed up. Then my husband fell and had two compression fractures in his back which kept me busy and away from doing genealogy. If you get a chance, could you send me an e-mail so I can have your e-mail address again. I have a photo I want you to take a look at. It's a photo of Joseph B. King with his grandson Dewey Jackson and another man. I haven't been able to identify the other man, but I'm wondering if it might be John Benjamin McGuire. I have another one, too, that I'd like you to look at and see if you recognize an elderly man and woman in the photo.

I hope life is treating you good, and that your father is doing better. I look forward to hearing from you again! :-)

Sabrina

Hello, I found 2 other Smiths the other day at Memory Hill. One happens to be VI O Smith and the other Aaron M. They share the same headstone as
W Bernard Smith.... so I thought you might know them. Can you help me on VI O Smith's name.... strange name on stone.
THANKS, Nancy

I transferred him, but what about Charles Rance and Bonnie Smith. They were in the same block. I am trying to survey Memory Hill 1 block at a time. I have 3rd-4th street and 4th-5th street done for now.

Thank you for your contributions and I have edited the info to reflect in her bio. I am of no relation to her so if you are and would like to manage her acct please let me know and I will gladly transfer her acct to you. I still have not been able to research her to find out her birthdate. If you know it, I would be happy to add it. Thanks again!

Did not find either stone. Did he die during the Civil War? You would think there would be a stone somewhere for this man.

Hyatt family
I found Mary Ann Hyatt and posted a picture. Her stone was part covered. I can not find William. There are several buried stones around the Hyatt family up toward the road, but I could not make any of them his.... looks like Sampson and Duvall names.

Mary-Elizabeth, you are more than welcome. I will check the cemetery in a few months to see if the headstone has been set in place. Otherwise, just let me know when and I will be happy to take the picture for you. Shirley

Hi, I was going to the cemetery to take a new picture but noticed that you have a picture of his wife's headstone already. As I mentioned in my note to you, Johnnie's headstone is not on the granite. Do you want a picture of the empty site where his headstone should be? I could upload if you like and then you could decide by deleting or not. Just let me know. Shirley

Boen/Bowen
Hey, Wanted to let you know that Effie, James S are posted as Boen and Bowen in the cemetery. The last name of the stone is Bowen. Not for sure that they do not need to take out the Boen spelling memorials, or did they go by Boen and the stone has a misspelling. Just let me know.

RE: Rachel Payne Harris
I am so sorry for the duplicate. I have already removed it. I really did look for another acct before I made that one but nothing came up under Harris for her since you have both last names in there. Just something you may want to consider, for when people are searching her name. Thank you so much for letting me know. If you find I have duplicated any others please don't hesitate to inform me again. ;)

Eli Chandler
RE: Matilda Chandler Carter Smith
Mary, the more I think about it the more I think several of the Chandler`s could be in Old Poplar Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery or Honsley Cem.? Have you been to this cemetery? I have not. It looks in sad shape from the photos on Find A Grave. It looks like it is right off the shoulder of the road. I have been to Poplar Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery a few times. If I remember the history right another church existed somewhere nearby before the present church was built. The old Log Cabin like church I think? Maybe another cemetery was next to it? Is this how Old Poplar Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery got started? Gabriel Smith did own this land that the cemetery was on? Correct...Lindsey Chandler(Matilda`s younger brother) and daughters where buried in the newer cemetery next to the newest church where they where members. The many other Chandler`s died way before Lindsey and would have been buried in a cemetery near their church if not on the farm. They died way before the newest Poplar Primitive Baptist church was even built. Doubt they would have moved dozens of bodies to the new site. So this means they are probably somewhere else either Old Poplar, some other cemetery or cemeteries, or on a farm or farms. What do you think? Sorry, I hope I did not loose you. I had to spend some time on this email myself. Sincerely, Eli Chandler

Matilda Chandler Smith
Hi again Mary, there is, in my opinion, a really good chance that Matilda is buried with Gabriel. With no grave stones existing we may never know. Several of her relatives are thought to be, and are, buried nearby in Popular Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Many of them, at different times, appear to have been members of this church. Many of the Chandler`s, in these generations, cannot be found and either the grave stones, where destroyed, or never put up. There are so many that cannot be found that I am thinking they may all be in a private family cemetery somewhere in Carroll County, Georgia. Lindsey Chandler`s farm was close to this church but I have not tracked down exactly where his property was located. This is my next step. He lived on this farm for 53 years until he died in 1891. Lindsey Chandler is buried in Popular Springs Church Cemetery along with two of his daughters and they have markers. I am hoping there may be a small family cemetery on his old property. If there is it is probably overgrown and forgotten. Wish me luck and if I find out anything I will let you know. Please do the same and keep up the good work on Find A Grave. Sincerely, Eli Chandler

Hi Mary, great bio. on Gabriel. He married my 4th great aunt Matilda. Just figured this out with all the different information. I guess the memorial to her is misspelled. Can you get the duplicates for Gabriel removed?
Do you happen to have any more information on Matilda? In your opinion which cemetery is she really in? I know there is no grave markers for them. Sincerely, Eli Chandler

RE: Hayes Family
Well, thank you so much. I do enjoy helping people locate their family and being able to give them something tangible to go along with them when they have been gone long before we came. Mom is awesome and thank you for asking. She goes for another cancer scan in a week. God is so great, just blows my mind just how powerful He really is and how little control we do have. Very humbling. Hope you and yours are doing well too.
