Hi there

This is a VERY large cemetery and they make all sorts of noises when I ask them for a location. They are much more accommodating to family members and descendants. It would help if you could get a section at the very least. It saves me from being on their doo-doo list!

Delighted to help

RE: i only took your photo, i do not control this memorial
How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Only request transferring of management if you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

Second, Transfer requests will be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Third, If you have extensive additions/changes to make to a memorial, please contact the Find A Grave member who created the memorial via the "Suggest a Correction" link under the "Edit" tab on the memorial in question with your request to have the memorial management transferred to you. This will send an email request to the contributor, even if there is not an email address listed on their contributor page.

Fourth, Explain your relationship in the request! Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. Bulk surname requests must not be made. Be advised that memorials listed as famous or maintained by Find A Grave will not be transferred.

I'll be happy to get the pictures for you if you call the office and get the Section and Block and the society where the graves are located.

My experience with that cemetery is that the requested names are not always the same as the names on file in the office. They also ask for confirmation of relatives names, which I can't do, so it is more accurate for you to get the plot than for me to try to get it.

RE: Wrong Image
Hi! I have removed the photos I posted.

The photos I posted were at the Bickur Cholem Gate within Waldheim Jewish Cemetery. I must rely on the information the office provides to me.

That being said, there are two Bickur Cholem Gates. "New Bickur Cholem #2" is Gate #3, and it is also known as "NBC." This gate is close to the intersection of Roosevelt and Des Plaines Ave. "Old Bickur Cholem #1" is Gate #30, and it is also known as "OBC." This gate is much farther down Des Plaines Ave.

The photos that I posted were taken at OBC. If you have additional information to help me find the correct grave I would be glad to go back and try again. If you know what the grave marker looks like any description might also be helpful.

all pictures have been uploaded to their memorials. Jerome and Arthur's individual stone pictures aren't that great. They had a lot of dirt on them, Arthur's is the worst. I tried to take as much off of them as I could. From what I could tell Arthur's doesn't have any Hebrew writing, but Jerome's does. Some of the first word is covered, hopefully you will still be able to read what it says.
sincerely,
Noreen

if you call the cemetery see if they can lift Arthur's stone, hopefully at no cost to you, and I will go back and retake it.

Hi Andrea,
I couldn't find Esther with David, even though the website claims they are together. I'll try again sometime.
But in the next row from David were Rose Endlich (d. 1/11/50), Hyman Endlich (d. 1/18/66) and another David (d. 2/24/93).
Are any of these of interest to you?

Sophie Turner
Hi!

I am hoping you can provide some additional detail in regards to Sophie Turner's burial.

In your memorial for her you state that she is buried in the former cemetery I.O. Bucker Cholem, but there is no cemetery with this exact name. There are the following two former cemeteries.

1. Gate 3: New Bickur Cholem #2 (NBC)
2. Gate 30: Old Bickur Cholem #1 (OBC)

There are probably 4500 - 5000 burials combined for these two former cemeteries. For someone to find her grave they really need to have the exact Gate Number, Section, and Lot, and in the case of these former cemeteries the row number.

Yes, it is a complicated system, but so far I have been able to find every grave where someone has provided me this information. I have even found graves where others have failed to find them.

If you do not have all of this information, I hope you will contact the cemetery and then post it to the profile so I can provide you with a photo before winter begins here in the Chicago area. Thank you! Ace

Joseph & Rosa Unterberger
Hi! In regards to your photo requests, can you please call the cemetery or submit a grave location request online and obtain the grave location (Gate, Section & Lot Numbers) and ask them whether or not there is a grave marker? Please post this information to the Find A Grave memorials.

Waldheim Cemetery: (708) 366-4541
Online submission: http://www.waldheimcemetery.com/SiteContent/Locate-Family-Grave/

Waldhim Jewish Cemetery is a huge consolidated group of cemeteries with over 150,000 burials, and the information is needed in order to find a grave and take a photograph.

Thank you, Ace

hi,
I posted lawrence's headstone on his page. if you click on his picture it will open a new window and it will be larger. It's actually extremely clear. I'm not sure why its showing up as blurry on your screen. I just checked it on my computer and its coming out clear. unless you are speaking of the overall plot picture, b/c then his individual stone isn't clear.
sincerely,
noreen

Message on Find A Grave website for Joseph Gould memorial. The memorial you are looking for does not exist in our system. This could be because of a malformed URL, an old link, etc. Please start a new search to try to find the name you are looking for.

Hi again Andrea,
The odd photo on Jeanne's page is a monument dedicated to her in the middle of her lodge's section. I've never seen this done before.
Hope all is well.
