Thanks for your reply. I will enjoy wandering around anyway!
I have made note of half a dozen headstones, will look for those and hope mine is in the same area. I am hoping that block one at the Maple St end is the oldest bit - although it never works that way!

Bunnythorpe Cemetery
I am looking for the grave of my 2x great grandfather, who is buried in the Bunnythorpe Cemetery. He died on 18/12/1897 and was buried there on 20/12/1897, attending was the Lutheran Pastor, Mr Christenson.

As I will be travelling down to Bunnythorpe this weekend, are you able to tell me where in the cemetery I could start looking for a grave from this period.

I am aware that there may be no headstone but it would be nice to photograph the general vicinity. I do have an aerial map of the cemetery which shows the rows etc.

I wonder whether this grave belongs to the fifth great grandfather of my husband. Do you have any additional information...or is thre likely to be more information at St Stephen's Church? Thanks for your work!

McDonell history
Jo, thanks very much for direecting me to the right place and the photo which I have credited to you. This is what I have written. If any of this is wrong - please let me know. Also if you can add anything that would be great!

Baldwin left the hotel in 1865 and the lease went to Cumberland Reed Scott McDONELL (also spelled McDonnell but McDonell is correct), and his wife Marjorie (Cameron) whom he had married in 1858. McDonell was Scottish, being born in Inverness. He immigrated to Australia in the early 1850ís possibly to the goldfields, settling in Victoria for a few years before coming to Wanganui. He later had hotels in Bulls and Turakina.

Hi Jo, I know what you are saying - I have just sent a message off to the BDM people to ask them to correct it as well. I have done considerable research on the BETT family and double checked this this afternoon so am quite confident that there have been a mistake made with the BDM transcript. Leave it how it is at the moment and I can get back to you when I hear from them.

Margaret

Hi Jo, fantastic job you are doing - I would never have found these people otherwise. However I have located a problem and am not sure if I can correct it or if you need to do so.

Sarah Stanley McBETH was not a BELL - her maiden name was BETT. I believe that the reference on the grave is to her son-in-law Charles Edward BELL - her death notice records that one of her daughters was Mrs BELL and marriage records show Catherine Mary McBETH & Charles Edward BELL.

Thanks
Margaret

RE: Janet Galbraith
Hi Janet

No problem. I don't have any connection with her as I only transferred the transcribed stones for the graveyard on Gigha to FindaGrave.

Agnes McGill
Hi Jo
I have found a Rita McGill in the Okato cemetery with the same death dates as Agnes. She is with her husband William Adair McGill. If this is correct I have the photo of both available to load up.
Kind regards
Julie

August William Crowder
Hullo Jo
My name is Trevor Grice.
I am a descendant of August & Annie Crowder, my great grandparents.
Amazed to see the photo of their grave site in Huntly. I never knew they or it existed.
On behalf of my cousins I have made a chart of the Crowder family and am only too happy to email you a copy of it and supporting items should you wish.
I'm curious to know the path of your connections to August & Annie. Presumably you are from one of their daughters, or maybe William their son ?
I also wonder if you know the towns they were born in and did they meet in Poland or Liverpool,
I now live in Australia and my email address is grices@ngvemail.com
Hoping to hear from you
Trevor

RE: Little Family
Thank you for the information and heads up. And thanks again for the work you do, it is much appreciated.

I am familiar with Mary Irene McIntyre. Would it be possible to have her transferred to me also. What a great find.

I have seen the name Apiti but not familiar with it so more researching for me. Just purchased a nice large map of New Zealand so I have been highlighting all the places I come across. I did a google search of Bunnythorpe and was able to home right in on the cemetery.... so should be able to do that with Apiti / Table Flat

If you get this twice I apologize, I was right in the middle of typing this out and it disappeared.

I was sure thrilled to find my Great Grand Uncle, his wife and one child and another wife. Thank you for all you do.

I wonder if you would consider transferring these accounts to me #48609673 Sandra Gardner-Benward unless you are related in which case I would love talking with you too.

okato photo request
Hi, I saw yr request for Agnes McGill's grave picture. I walked the whole cemetery today and the only McGill I could find was for Rita - buried with her husband. Not sure if this was who you were searching for? Let me know if you would like to view the photo and if it's correct I can add it for you.

RE: Hartley Family
Hi Jo - I'm sorry I had a brain fart! I meant St Johns at Marton! I have since found reference to Olive - she is apparently incorrectly noted as FOLLETT and not Hartley and located at Plot: Block F plot 13. But I am unsure if any of the Hartley's are with her. I would very much appreciate a photo if you have the time. Thank you for your tireless work and assistance.

Hello Jo,

When we emailed last you mentioned that you were heading out to St. Stephen's, Mt. View in the future. May I please ask you to have a look for Charles Stephen Hartley and his wife Olive Frances (FOLLETT) while you are there. I would appreciate it very much.

Kindest regards, Julie
